- On December 15-16, at Khanh Khe Primary and Secondary School in Khanh Khe commune, Lang Son province, the Red Cross Society of Lang Son organized a training course on safe schools. This program is part of the project "International aid to support schools in overcoming the consequences of Typhoon No. 3 (Typhoon Yagi) and its aftermath" for 22 staff and teachers of the school.

According to the program, officials and teachers were equipped with basic knowledge by experts from the Vietnam Red Cross Central Committee, such as: the legal framework for building safe schools; skills, criteria, and procedures for building safe schools adapted to climate change; and support for schools in developing school-level disaster response plans… The goal is to support and ensure maximum safety for students, teachers, and facilities, adapting to climate change and various types of natural disasters. The training content also incorporated practical exercises on real-life disaster scenarios in the locality and situations occurring in schools.


Reportedly, this is the first phase of the project "International aid to support schools in overcoming the consequences of Typhoon No. 3 (Typhoon Yagi ) and its aftermath," implemented by the Lang Son Provincial Red Cross Society in 7 schools across 5 communes of Lang Son province, including Cong Son, Khanh Khe, Huu Lien, Quan Son, and Tuan Son.
The training for schools will be conducted from December 15th to 31st, 2025. This training program is of significant and practical importance in the context of complex and unpredictable natural disasters and climate change.
