The project will be implemented from April 2025 to September 2025, in 4 communes: Xuan Thuong, Xuan Hoa, Phuc Khanh and Viet Tien of Bao Yen district.
The project has a total budget of more than 2.2 billion VND, spending on 2 main activities: providing cash support for local people to participate in public service activities to recover after storm No. 3 (with 3 new construction projects and 11 public service activities), the goal is to support labor for about 2,000 local people; training on community-based disaster risk management for officials, leaders and local people (opening 10 training classes for 300 trainees).
On May 29-30, Lao Cai Provincial Red Cross Society, United Nations Development Program (UNDP) and People's Committees of communes organized project launching activities in 4 communes. The activities included: opening 4 training courses on community-based disaster risk management for officials, leaders and local people in Xuan Thuong and Xuan Hoa communes with 120 participants; starting the construction of a bridge for people in Gia Thuong village, Viet Tien commune and cleaning up trash, dredging the stream bed in the commune center; organizing 140 households in 4 Vanh village, Xuan Thuong commune to work in exchange for public service; the Provincial Red Cross Society and Xuan Hoa Commune People's Committee signed a contract of responsibility to implement project activities and organized people to work in exchange for clearing and dredging the 2.5 km long Ban Vac canal and ditch; public service in Phuc Khanh commune.
The activities attracted the participation of many local people and officials and leaders of communes in the project implementation area, contributing to supporting economic development, construction and repair of local works.
The project will continue to implement similar activities in the future.
