Previously, on February 5, the Investigation Police Agency of Tra On District Police received a report from Mr. HVL (52 years old, residing in Bung Lon B Hamlet, Tam Ngai Commune, Cau Ke District, Tra Vinh ) about his grapefruit garden in Tam Vu Hamlet, Tra Con Commune, Tra On District having many fruits picked and sunk to the bottom of the pond, showing signs of property damage.

Upon receiving the report, the police investigated. Accordingly, on December 1, 2023, Mr. L. signed a contract to sell grapefruit to Nguyen Be Hai and will cut grapefruit from December 1, 2023 to February 9, 2024.

After signing the contract, Be Hai hired many workers to cut grapefruit in Mr. L's garden from December 5, 2023. When cutting, he will notify in advance and when finished cutting, he will let Mr. L know so that he can go into the garden to weigh the grapefruit and calculate the payment.

The police force invited Bé Hai and related people to clarify. At the police station, these people repeatedly tried to hide their violations. However, with the evidence collected during the investigation by the authorities, the above-mentioned people admitted all their actions.

The total amount of grapefruit Be Hai directed to sink weighed nearly 1.6 tons and was worth more than 31 million VND.

Nguyen Be Hai confessed that when cutting grapefruit, he saw many bad fruits , and was afraid of losing money compared to the contract, so he instructed some workers to submerge the bad fruits after cutting so that they would not have to pay. Be Hai's instructions were agreed by some workers and were carried out many times over many days.

The asset valuation concluded that the 1.6 tons of grapefruits that were submerged at the bottom of the pond were worth more than 31 million VND. The police agency issued a decision to prosecute and ban the 3 suspects from leaving their place of residence.

The above property destruction case is being further investigated to clarify the actions of those involved for strict handling according to the provisions of the law.
