The Vietnam Open 2025 International Badminton Tournament kicks off.

On September 9th, at the Nguyen Du Gymnasium (Ho Chi Minh City), the Vietnam Open 2025 International Badminton Tournament officially kicked off with the qualifying rounds.

The Vietnam Open 2025 will bring together 295 players (164 men and 131 women) from 35 countries and territories. Among them, host country Vietnam will compete with 20 players (6 men, 14 women).

In the women's singles event, Nguyen Thuy Linh was seeded number 1, while Vu Thi Trang competed from the qualifying round.

In the men's singles event, veteran player Nguyen Tien Minh also competed from the qualifying rounds.

The two players competing in the main draw of this event are Nguyen Hai Dang and Le Duc Phat, with Hai Dang seeded number 7.

Meanwhile, Nguyen Dinh Hoang/Tran Dinh Manh competed in the men's doubles main draw. In the women's doubles, Huynh Khanh My/Ngo Thuc Tran, Nguyen Thi Ngoc Lan/Than Van Anh, and Pham Thi Dieu Ly/Pham Thi Khanh competed in the main draw, while Nguyen Hoang Thien Kim/Nguyen Thi Ngoc Thuy, Ho Ngoc Truc Ngan/Le Nguyen Ngoc Nga, and Nguyen Thi Kim Ngan/Nguyen Thuy Kim Hang started from the qualifying round. Tran Dinh Manh/Pham Thi Khanh and Pham Van Hai/Than Van Anh started from the mixed doubles main draw.

On the first day of competition, badminton player Vu Thi Trang impressively secured two consecutive victories against opponents from India and Hong Kong (China) to advance to the main draw of the women's singles.

Meanwhile, in the men's singles event, Nguyen Tien Minh was eliminated in the qualifying round, while Le Duc Phat also failed in the first round.

Tomorrow (September 10th), the tournament will continue with matches in various categories. This is also the day Nguyen Thuy Linh will play her first round women's singles match against Liang Ting Yu (Taiwan, China).
