Unable to play at Hang Day Stadium in the final match of V-League, Viettel The Cong Club unexpectedly chose a new stadium

In the 2023-2024 season, Hang Day Stadium will have 3 teams choosing it as their home stadium, including The Cong Viettel Club, Hanoi Police Club (CAHN) and Hanoi Club. According to the schedule of Vietnam Football Joint Stock Company (VPF), in the final round, Hanoi Club and Viettel Club will play at home. More notably, the final round of the V-League will be played at the same time (5:00 p.m. on June 30). Therefore, Hanoi Club and The Cong Viettel cannot share Hang Day Stadium, forcing one team to find another stadium.

Based on the rankings after the first leg, the team with the better ranking will be given priority to play at Hang Day Stadium.

Hanoi FC ranked 6th after the first leg so they will play at Hang Day Stadium, facing Binh Duong FC. Meanwhile, The Cong Viettel FC did not play well in the first leg, ranked 13th and had to choose another home field in the match against SLNA FC.

According to initial information, Viettel Club planned to choose My Dinh Stadium to play the final match. However, this plan quickly fell through when the My Dinh Stadium Organizing Committee also had another event taking place on June 30.

For the above reasons, the Viettel Club's management board has considered the option of renting another stadium. Lach Tray Stadium (the home stadium of Hai Phong Club) was contacted and the "soldier team" announced that they had reached an agreement to hold the final match of the season against SLNA Club here. Viettel Club also announced that the upcoming match at Lach Tray Stadium will be free of charge, fans can freely enter the stadium to support Hoang Duc and his teammates.

After 25 rounds of V-League 2023 - 2024, The Cong Viettel Club is ranked 4th (38 points) while SLNA Club is second to last (27 points). Therefore, the final match is important for both teams and the goal of 3 points is definitely what The Cong Viettel Club and SLNA Club are aiming for.

With Viettel The Cong Club, coach Nguyen Duc Thang and his team are being closely pursued by the teams below. Currently, the teams ranked below such as CAHN Club, TP.HCM (both with 37 points), Hai Phong Club (35 points), Binh Duong Club, Thanh Hoa (both with 34 points) all still have the opportunity to finish the season in 4th place. After a poor first leg, Viettel Club has made a strong comeback in the second leg. The army team is on a 9-match unbeaten streak and a victory over SLNA Club, consolidating 4th place is a beautiful gift that Viettel The Cong Club gives to home fans.

The right to self-determination is no longer in the hands of SLNA Club.

On the other hand, SLNA Club has no way back and the risk of relegation play-off is looming before their eyes. Among the teams still at risk of playing the play-off, the Nghe An team is at the biggest disadvantage. SLNA Club has 27 points, 2 points behind the two teams above them, Nam Dinh Club and LPBank HAGL Club. A victory to keep the hope of staying in the V-League is what coach Pham Anh Tuan and his team must do. However, even if they win the match, the right to self-determination is still not in the hands of SLNA Club.
