Due to the influence of continuously strengthened cold air combined with high altitude divergence, from November 13-15, the Northern region, Thanh Hoa and Nghe An will experience little cloud and sunny days. However, the weather will turn cold at night and early morning.
"During November 13-15, the lowest nighttime temperature in the Northern region, Thanh Hoa and Nghe An will drop sharply, generally between 16-18 degrees Celsius, in the Northern mountainous region, some places will be below 13 degrees Celsius. At night and early morning, in these areas, the weather will turn cold, in the high mountainous areas, some places will be very cold," noted Head of the Forecasting Department Nguyen Van Huong.
Regarding further information on the cold air situation, the National Center for Hydro-Meteorological Forecasting said that in the winter of 2025 - 2026, the average temperature in the Northern region will be approximately the average of many years. However, severe cold spells are likely to appear from the second half of December 2025 and increase in January and February 2026.
During the cold spells, not only the mountainous areas but also the Northern Delta and North Central regions (Thanh Hoa, Nghe An, Ha Tinh) can be affected. Some high mountainous areas such as Yen Bai (old), Lang Son... are likely to experience frost, ice, and even snow if the temperature drops and the humidity is high.
Experts advise people in areas affected by severe cold to proactively update weather information and keep warm, especially the elderly and children during the changing seasons. Farmers also need to pay attention to protecting crops and livestock from the upcoming cold spells.
