With a festive atmosphere, "Zootopia 2" reclaims the top spot.

Not only did "Zootopia 2" dominate the domestic market, it also became the second Hollywood film in 2025 to surpass the $1 billion mark in global revenue.

The global film scene is buzzing with excitement, and the centerpiece of this jubilation is none other than The Walt Disney Co.'s hilarious animated film "Zootopia 2".

The film has officially reclaimed the top spot at the North American box office, raking in $26.3 million in its third week of release.

Not only did "Zootopia 2" dominate the domestic market, it also became the second Hollywood film in 2025 to surpass the $1 billion mark in global revenue. Its total global revenue has now reached $1.14 billion, an achievement that has left fans in awe.

In particular, "Zootopia 2" achieved tremendous success in China, grossing $502.4 million, solidifying its position as one of the most successful Hollywood films in the country of over a billion people in recent years.

Along with its animated counterpart "Lilo & Stitch" ($1.04 billion), "Zootopia 2" contributed to bringing smiles to Hollywood studios. However, the box office record for 2025 still belongs to Asia's pride, the Chinese blockbuster "Ne Zha 2, " with a staggering nearly $2 billion in revenue in the Chinese market alone.

This past week, despite the lack of many noteworthy new releases (before "Avatar: Fire and Ash" officially hit the box office), the competition among the top films remained intense.

The horror film "Five Nights at Freddy's 2" maintained its momentum with $19.5 million in its second week. Despite a 70% drop in revenue from its opening week, its total domestic box office of $95.5 million is a huge success for Blumhouse Productions, further solidifying their profitable horror film empire.

However, not all box offices were booming. The highly anticipated new film "Ella McCay," marking the return of renowned director James L. Brooks after 15 years, had a disappointing debut, grossing only $2.1 million.

This $35 million political comedy seems to have failed to win over current audiences, receiving low ratings from critics, suggesting that end-of-year audiences tend to prioritize more explosive entertainment films.

With box office revenue in 2025 nearly matching that of 2024, Hollywood is placing its hopes on the busiest holiday season of the year to end 2025 on a high note.

A host of blockbusters and entertaining films are set to liven up theaters, including "Avatar: Fire and Ash," "The SpongeBob Movie: Search for SquarePants," "Marty Supreme," "Anaconda, " and "Song Sung Blue."

The year-end movie season is unfolding with a colorful and hilarious spectacle. Let's wait and see which films will continue to bring the most joy and laughter to audiences worldwide. Here is a list of the top 10 highest-grossing films in North America this past weekend:

1. “Zootopia 2” - $26.3 million

2. “Five Nights at Freddy's 2” - 19.5 million USD
