The Customs Department is making all-out efforts to deploy a plan to attack and suppress smuggling and trade fraud crimes according to Plan 01/KH-BTC of the Ministry of Finance.

Accordingly, the department's leaders directly inspected and assessed the situation in 20 key areas such as important border gates in all three regions, focusing on the northern border, the Southeast and Southwest seaport areas to grasp the local records, the actual smuggling situation and the level of use of support tools such as sniffer dogs, specialized equipment, and weapons in control work.

In the coming time, the Customs Department will focus on supporting units in improving professional operations, supplementing equipment, and improving the capacity to detect and handle violations, especially in the context of smuggling and transporting goods of unknown origin across the border continuing to be complicated.
