Check and remove temporary and dilapidated houses in Lai Chau city

To implement the elimination of temporary and dilapidated houses, the City Party Committee has established a Steering Committee and directed the issuance of documents in accordance with regulations, ensuring quality; organized propaganda to cadres, party members and people in the area, especially those who benefit from the program; the mobilization of social resources has achieved positive results; the implementation progress is being carried out urgently, people are excited, confident and very supportive.

The total need to eliminate temporary and dilapidated houses in the city (from November 2024 to December 31, 2025) is 134 houses. Of which, 94 new houses will be built and 40 houses will be repaired. According to the housing support program for people with revolutionary contributions; the elimination of temporary and dilapidated houses for poor and near-poor households in the city in 2025 includes 37 households.

To date, the city has implemented 45 houses (32 new houses, 13 houses repaired). Of these, 17 houses are under construction and 28 houses have been completed. The total housing support budget for people with meritorious services and relatives of martyrs has been used 483 million VND; the national target program for socio -economic development in ethnic minority and mountainous areas 550 million VND; housing support budget under the program to eliminate temporary and dilapidated houses nationwide 2,785 million VND.

The city proposes to soon allocate a budget of VND 5,060 million according to the city's support needs.

Concluding the inspection, Colonel Dang Vinh Thuy - Commander of the Provincial Military Command requested that the City Steering Committee direct more closely, mobilize maximum resources from the people and armed forces to complete before May 30. Regarding the city's proposal, the working group will report to the Provincial Steering Committee.
