Strengthening the National Steering Committee for Population and Development
Deputy Heads of the Steering Committee include: Minister of Health Dao Hong Lan (Permanent Deputy Head of the Committee); Deputy Minister of Finance Bui Van Khang; Deputy Minister of Health Nguyen Thi Lien Huong.
Members of the Steering Committee include: Deputy Head of the Government Office Do Ngoc Huynh; Deputy Minister of Culture, Sports and Tourism Trinh Thi Thuy; Deputy Minister of National Defense, Senior Lieutenant General Le Huy Vinh; Deputy Minister of Public Security, Major General Dang Hong Duc; Deputy Minister of Home Affairs Vu Chien Thang; Deputy Minister of Education and Training Nguyen Thi Kim Chi; Deputy Minister of Agriculture and Environment Vo Van Hung; Deputy Minister of Science and Technology Bui The Duy; Deputy Minister of Justice Dang Hoang Oanh; Deputy Minister of Ethnic Minorities and Religions Y Vinh Tor, Deputy General Director of Vietnam Television Do Thanh Hai; Deputy General Director of Voice of Vietnam Pham Manh Hung; Vice President of the Vietnam General Confederation of Labor Thai Thu Xuong; Vice President of the Central Committee of the Vietnam Farmers' Union Nguyen Xuan Dinh; Vice President of the Vietnam Women's Union Tran Lan Phuong; Secretary of the Central Committee of the Ho Chi Minh Communist Youth Union Nguyen Minh Triet; Director of the Department of Population, Ministry of Health Le Thanh Dung (Member and Secretary) and representatives of the Central Committee of the Vietnam Fatherland Front.
Decision No. 1064/QD-TTg replaces: Article 1 of Decision No. 157/QD-TTg dated January 29, 2022 of the Prime Minister on the establishment of the National Steering Committee for Population and Development, Decision No. 527/QD-TTg dated June 18, 2024 of the Prime Minister on the consolidation of the National Steering Committee for Population and Development.
Decision No. 1064/QD-TTg takes effect from June 2, 2025.
* According to Decision No. 157/QD-TTg dated January 29, 2022, the Steering Committee performs the task of directing, coordinating, and urging ministries and branches in solving important, inter-sectoral issues on population and development; researching and proposing directions and solutions to implement issues related to population and development.
The Steering Committee operates on a part-time basis, promoting the personal responsibility of the head. The Head of the Steering Committee issues the Regulations on the organization and operation of the Steering Committee.
The Ministry of Health is the standing agency responsible for ensuring the operating conditions of the Steering Committee.
