These individuals were voluntarily handed over by local people to the Kon Tum City Forest Protection Department, then transferred to the center for care and rescue. Specifically, the mountain tortoise is a female, weighing 3.2 kg; the wild cat is a male, weighing 3.5 kg.

Both are alive, in good health, and belong to group IIB - endangered, precious, and rare wild animals.

Mr. Dao Xuan Thuy said that after being received, the animals will be monitored for their health and restored in a semi-natural environment at the center.

“When conditions are met, we will release these individuals back into a suitable habitat to preserve valuable genetic resources in the wild,” said Mr. Dao Xuan Thuy.
