Celebrating the 28th anniversary of the establishment of the Academy of Posts and Telecommunications Technology: Affirming the pioneering position in training and innovation

On the morning of September 17, 2025, on the occasion of the 28th anniversary of the establishment of the Posts and Telecommunications Institute of Technology (PTIT), Deputy Minister of Science and Technology Hoang Minh visited and worked with the Institute at its Ho Chi Minh City campus.

At the meeting, Associate Professor, Dr. Dang Hoai Bac - Director of the Academy reported to the Deputy Minister on the outstanding results in training, scientific research and innovation that the Academy has achieved in recent times.

On behalf of the leaders of the Ministry of Science and Technology , Deputy Minister Hoang Minh sent congratulations to the staff, lecturers and students of the Academy on the occasion of its traditional day, and at the same time acknowledged and appreciated the efforts and contributions of the Academy throughout its construction and development. The Deputy Minister expressed his hope that the Academy would continue to promote its pioneering role in training high-quality human resources, contributing to the development of the information technology (ICT) industry and the national digital transformation process.

The Academy of Posts and Telecommunications Technology was established on September 17, 1997, and is the leading training and research unit in the field of ICT in Vietnam. The Academy's traditional day is an opportunity to express gratitude and honor the great contributions of generations of leaders, staff, lecturers and researchers in the cause of building and developing the Academy.

Associate Professor, Dr. Dang Hoai Bac, Director of PTIT Academy, reported to the Deputy Minister at the working session.

From July 1, 2014, according to Decision No. 878/QD-BTTTT of the Minister of Information and Communications , the Academy officially transferred to the Ministry of Information and Communications (now the Ministry of Science and Technology). On February 27, 2025, the Prime Minister issued Decision No. 452/QD-TTg approving the planning of the network of higher education and pedagogical institutions until 2030, with a vision to 2050, accordingly, PTIT is oriented to become one of the five key national higher education institutions in engineering and technology, with quality and prestige on par with the region.

With a core role in training, research and innovation serving high-tech and strategic industries, PTIT is currently implementing many training programs in key areas of the digital age such as: information technology, electronics - telecommunications, artificial intelligence, semiconductor microchips, information security, computer science, data engineering,...

In particular, the Academy pioneers in developing interdisciplinary majors for the first time in Vietnam such as multimedia technology, financial technology, game design and development, Internet of Things technology, multimedia communications, etc.

In 2013, the Academy was one of seven national key information security human resource training institutions and one of five universities in the alliance of educational institutions training in semiconductor microchips. PTIT is also the only educational institution in Vietnam to be awarded the ASOCIO Information Technology Award 2024 in the Digital Education category, and was ranked No. 1 in Vietnam by SCImago in terms of innovation index in the system of scientific research institutions.
