This year, the 50-year milestone - half a century since that historic moment - is being solemnly and ceremoniously prepared. On all the roads of the Fatherland, especially in Ho Chi Minh City - once the last battlefield of the resistance war against the US, touching and proud images have, are and will continue to spread, reminding every Vietnamese person of the priceless value of independence, freedom and the spirit of great national unity.

Footsteps of history

Since the beginning of April, the armed forces have been diligently practicing for the parade – one of the main highlights of the commemorative program. Against the deep blue sky and the bright yellow sunshine of the South, each column of soldiers marched in unison, proudly marching across the grandstand, carrying the spirit of a nation that once stood up to take control of its destiny.

In the series of images recorded by the press, it is easy to see the radiant, serious but full of vitality faces of the young soldiers. A female soldier caused a "fever" on social networks with just... a smile. Not a performance smile, it was a natural moment during a break, in the harsh sunlight and the constant training rhythm. But it was that clear light, along with the radiant eyes, that touched the hearts of millions of people - because it was the image of a confident, life-loving next generation, full of pride when contributing to the great celebration of the nation.

Or the beautiful image of a young soldier - the guy is Le Hoang Hiep (born in 1996) when getting out of the car caused a stir in the online community, creating sympathy, spreading and attracting...

Every step of the young men and women in the parade formation is a continuation of history – where the arduous past and the present blend together to create a heroic song. They – the young people, born in peacetime – today stand under the red flag with a yellow star to remember and honor the feats of their fathers and grandfathers.

National spirit spreads from every person

Not only the armed forces, but also the people – with sincere, voluntary and sacred feelings – created the touching beauty of the April days. A touching story is the journey of veteran Nguyen Van Lam, 76 years old, residing in Hung Yen , Nghe An.

Touching images of the journey of a 76-year-old veteran riding a motorbike over 1,400 km from Nghe An to Ho Chi Minh City

He rode his motorbike across Vietnam alone, more than 1,400 km to arrive in Ho Chi Minh City in time to witness the parade celebrating the 50th anniversary of the liberation of the South... His hair was grey and his skin was tanned by the sun, but Mr. Lam's eyes still shone with the same excitement as the first day he went to battle. Nearly half a century ago, he was also a soldier - a living witness to the April 30 victory. Today, the veteran returned not to fight, but to relive the heroic memories, and more importantly, to witness a new generation continuing that tradition with seriousness, discipline and deep patriotism.

“I didn’t go out of curiosity. I went because my heart urged me to,” Mr. Lam said. That statement is enough to bring tears to the eyes of today’s youth – when they realize that love for the country does not need grand speeches, but is fostered by simple, sincere and persistent actions like the journey of the 76-year-old man…

Youth fuels tradition

Along with the soldiers, many young men and women volunteers – without military ranks but still participating in the parade – have become inspirational images on social networks. In neat military uniforms, upright figures and determined eyes, they have become new symbols of the Vietnamese youth generation: brave, modern and not forgetting their national roots.

These images not only caused a “fever” because of their good looks, but also because of the volunteer and responsible spirit they showed. They came from many professions and regions, but when they put on their military uniforms, they all shared the same breath: patriotism and pride.

Also from the roads around the parade area, it is not difficult to see people standing on both sides of the road, waving flags, cheering, their eyes filled with tears as they watch the parade march forward. They are mothers, fathers, students – all together, joining in the rhythm of a nation looking back to its historical roots.

Towards Victory Day: emotional and proud

The April 30 victory is not only a brilliant historical milestone, but also a symbol of the Vietnamese people's aspiration for independence, unity and longevity. 50 years have passed, the wounds of war have gradually healed, the country has developed, but in the hearts of every citizen, that victory is always a part of flesh and blood, an irreplaceable value.

The images from the parade rehearsal – from the bright eyes of the female soldier, the proud figure of the young man, to the arduous journey of the veteran – are living proof of that spirit. They are not only “beautiful images” in the visual sense, but also a message of solidarity, of continuing tradition and gratitude to those who sacrificed for the Fatherland.

In every step of the march, in every beat of the parade drum, there is an echo of the past and a melody of the future. Today, the Vietnamese people from North to South come together to watch – not only to celebrate, but also to remind: Today’s peace is the blood and bones of millions of people who came before, and the task of today’s generation is to preserve and cultivate, so that the future of the country will always be bright.

The 50th anniversary of the liberation of the South and the reunification of the country is not only a political and historical event. It is an opportunity for all people, especially the young generation, to look back and appreciate more deeply the value of freedom and independence. The touching and proud images from the parades, from the people, soldiers and veterans, are beautiful pieces that make up a picture of an indomitable, resilient and kind Vietnam.

We are proud to be Vietnamese. And in this celebration season, we are even more proud to see patriotism manifested in concrete and clear ways – from the simplest things .
