At a meeting with the Department of Vocational Education and Continuing Education, chaired by Deputy Minister of Education and Training Hoang Minh Son on March 13th, representatives shared their expectations for the breakthrough development of the 16 units under the Ministry of Education and Training. Deputy Minister Hoang Minh Son also affirmed that this is an opportunity to unify and innovate the education and training system. The planning and arrangement will ensure systematic and synchronized operations to improve efficiency.

The Deputy Minister expressed his hope that the units would cooperate and be determined to effectively implement the assigned tasks, overcome difficulties and obstacles, and develop long-term plans to fundamentally and comprehensively reform education and training, meeting the needs of high-quality human resources in the new era.

According to Decision No. 596/QD-BGD&ĐT dated March 3, 2025, of the Minister of Education and Training, the Department of Vocational Education and Continuing Education is a unit under the Ministry of Education and Training, performing the function of advising and assisting the Minister in the state management of vocational education (excluding teacher training) and continuing education. In addition to general tasks similar to other Departments and Divisions regarding advisory work, implementation of state management responsibilities, reporting, personnel management, finance, assets, and records and documents, the Department of Vocational Education and Continuing Education has two groups of tasks directly related to professional work: vocational education and continuing education, building upon the previous tasks of the General Department of Vocational Education and the Department of Continuing Education.
