Dr. Le Lam and teachers went to many places to collect and request national flags.

The idea for the exhibition originated from the trip to Truong Sa of Dr. Le Lam, Principal of Dai Viet Saigon College, when he received a 0.7m x 1.08m national flag on Co Lin Island from the navy soldiers. Standing from Co Lin looking across to Gac Ma, the image of the "Immortal Circle" of soldiers covering the national flag with their bodies appeared in his mind, urging him to spread the spirit of patriotism to the younger generation. After 3 months of dedicated collection, the school's leadership, lecturers and students overcame many difficulties to collect and bring back national flags from agencies and units across the country, from the Office of the President , Ho Chi Minh Mausoleum, to historical sites such as Hung Temple, Quang Tri Citadel, Cu Chi Tunnels, and islands such as Phu Quoc, Ly Son, Con Dao...

The exhibition displays nearly 150 national flags, each flag telling a historical story, such as the memory of 81 days and nights of fighting in Quang Tri ancient citadel or the unyielding will in Truong Sa.

Mr. Tran The Dung, a former Saigon Gia Dinh Special Forces soldier - American Destroyer, said: “ This initiative is very meaningful to today’s young generation. I hope that you will continue to uphold the indomitable spirit of your ancestors to build, develop and protect the country .”

Pham Thi Huyen Anh, a student of the 23rd class of the Faculty of Pedagogy, majoring in PreschoolEducation , shared: “ When I touched the national flag brought back from Truong Sa, I felt like I heard the sound of the waves and felt the hardships of the soldiers who protect the islands day and night. I hope one day I can set foot on Truong Sa to witness with my own eyes and pay tribute to that sacrifice.

The exhibition displays nearly 150 flags, each telling a historical story.

The exhibition "Vietnam's National Flag - A Land of Unity" is not only a memory, but also a reminder of the aspiration to maintain independence, protect territorial integrity, and build a strong and prosperous country.

Mr. Pham Tat Thang, Deputy Head of the Central Propaganda and Mass Mobilization Commission, commented: " The gathering of nearly 150 national flags from 63 provinces and cities on the occasion of the 50th anniversary of the Liberation of the South and National Reunification Day is a good and dedicated initiative to preserve the symbol of the Fatherland, historical value and has the effect of arousing the spirit of patriotism and national pride of teachers and students of the school along with those who come to see the exhibition when preparing to enter the era of national growth ."

The exhibition is a declaration of sovereignty and territorial integrity, affirming the country's unity. The flags, stories, and emotions at the exhibition are valuable lessons about "global citizens with Vietnamese identity".

The exhibition is also a vivid lesson about history and responsibility to protect the Fatherland, demonstrating the spirit of self-reliance.

On this occasion, Dai Viet Saigon College organized meaningful gratitude activities: welcoming 50 Quang Tri veterans, presenting 2 gratitude houses and supporting 300 million VND for the search for martyrs' remains, spreading the spirit of "repaying gratitude".

The exhibition not only helps the young generation be proud of history but also arouses patriotism, guiding them to strive and train to become future masters of the country, as General Secretary To Lam called for in the article "The future for the rising generation".

Dr. Luu Duc Tien, Vice President of Ho Chi Minh City Vocational Education Association, commented: “ The event not only honors history but is also an opportunity for students to learn about patriotism and identify their responsibility to build the country .”

Specialist Doctor II Truong Duc Tu, Principal of Quang Tri Medical College, said: " The flags and stories at the exhibition contribute to awakening the responsibility of the young generation for the future of the country ."

Dai Viet Saigon College was honored to receive the flag presented by the representative of the Ministry of Interior.

From the flags that carry the soul of the country, the exhibition is a reminder of the value of national unity - the strength that helped Vietnam overcome the war and is now the foundation for rising up in the new era. As President Ho Chi Minh said: "Whether Vietnam becomes beautiful or not, whether the Vietnamese people can stand shoulder to shoulder with the world powers or not, depends largely on your studies." The 50-year journey of national reunification continues to be written with the will and aspirations of today's young generation.
