This result was obtained from the program of voting and honoring typical literary and artistic works of the city, aiming to celebrate the 50th anniversary of the Liberation of the South and National Reunification Day.
Music and theater "overwhelm" with 7 works in each genre
Voting and praising 50 typical literary and artistic works of the city is considered a meaningful activity to respectfully recognize and praise works of high ideological and artistic value, contributing positively to the sustainable development of the city's literature and arts.
Since the city issued the implementation plan in September 2023, the public has been eagerly waiting to see which work will be honored.
As a result, 50 literary and artistic works were officially recognized, and 8 works were reserved.
Interacting with the press at the announcement ceremony, musician Pham Minh Tuan shared about the 45-year-old song City of Love and Nostalgia . He emphasized that his greatest joy is that his work is widely spread among the masses. "The most precious thing is that my work has become the child of the people" - Mr. Tuan happily said.

And author Huu Danh could not hide his joy when the opera Le Cong Ky An that he composed was honored.
This is a play depicting the "god" in the hearts of the Southern people, Ta Quan Le Van Duyet. What makes him happy is that for a long time, the traditional opera at communal houses and temples only performed Chinese plays, Huu Danh boldly composed a Vietnamese historical opera and now the play is performed a lot at communal houses. It can be considered a "breakthrough" in the opera's historical plays.

The precious thing is when the work becomes the child of the people.
Ms. Thanh Thuy, Deputy Director of the Department of Culture and Sports of Ho Chi Minh City, said that the voting process was carried out very closely, publicly, seriously and objectively.
The voting process goes through three levels of council with the participation of many prestigious experts.
From the preliminary panel with 91 nominated works in many fields, the specialized nomination panel considered and reviewed 87 works.
During that process, in order to create high consensus, these works are also made public to widely collect public opinions through voting on a digital platform.
The final step was the city-level voting council. The council voted by secret ballot and unanimously proposed that the city leaders recognize 50 official literary and artistic works and 8 reserve works.
