Lai Chau implements 5-day/week study for all levels

Lai Chau Provincial People's Committee has just issued an official dispatch requesting the Department of Education and Training to implement teaching and learning 5 days/week, with Saturday and Sunday off for schools.

Accordingly, in Official Dispatch No. 3845 dated September 24, Lai Chau Provincial People's Committee requested the Department of Education and Training, People's Committees of districts and cities to direct educational institutions to implement teaching and learning 5 days/week. The implementation of the above content is based on Circular No. 36/1999 of the Ministry of Education and Training .

Specifically, all levels will study from Monday to Friday and have Saturday and Sunday off. Teaching and learning must ensure the conditions prescribed by the Ministry of Education and Training, completing the content and general education program of 2018 according to the school year schedule.

The Department of Education and Training is responsible for providing specific guidance on the implementation of teaching and learning 5 days/week. Ensuring effective implementation of the content, program, and tasks of the school year according to regulations.

At the same time, closely monitor to promptly report and propose to the Provincial People's Committee to consider and resolve difficulties, problems, and issues arising beyond its authority. At the end of the 2024-2025 school year, organize an assessment of the situation and results of implementing 5-day/week teaching and learning in the province and report to the Provincial People's Committee.

Previously, Ha Tinh City also piloted Saturday school breaks for secondary school students.
