Again 'overcoming the barrier' of early university admission

TP - The general enrollment system of the Ministry of Education and Training is synchronizing data and preparing for virtual filtering, but has seen some universities with autonomous enrollment "crossing the line" to enroll students at all costs.

Reporters noted that some schools "circumvented the law" by calling candidates to enroll early, even though this year the Ministry of Education and Training did not allow this. For example, Van Hien University sent emails to many candidates informing them that they had met the admission requirements and only needed to pay 3 million VND to receive tuition support. Hong Bang International University also sent messages to congratulate candidates who had passed the entrance exam.

Hung Vuong University, Ho Chi Minh City, sent the following notice to the candidate: “Based on the candidate's application for admission based on transcripts and scholarship, Hung Vuong University, Ho Chi Minh City would like to congratulate the candidate... for meeting the requirements for admission based on transcripts and scholarship for the regular university program in the field of...". The candidate will also soon receive an invitation to enroll in the regular university program in 2025 from Gia Dinh University.

Meanwhile, according to the regulations of the Ministry of Education and Training, this year there is no more early admission, all methods are considered once when the Ministry of Education and Training organizes a general virtual selection. Thus, at the earliest after 5:00 p.m. on August 20, the university will be able to announce the benchmark scores and admission opportunities for candidates.

Speaking to reporters, the Department of Higher Education , Ministry of Education and Training confirmed that the Ministry has grasped the information and has asked the above universities to review the information. If they do not comply with the regulations, they will have to be responsible for explaining to the Ministry of Education and Training.

The Ministry of Education and Training has just requested all training institutions to review data in preparation for filtering out fake admissions in 2025. Accordingly, to ensure the system operates smoothly and effectively during the admission process, the Ministry of Education and Training requires training institutions to comply with the regulations of the admission regulations and guiding documents.

The first round of university and college admissions in 2025 will be conducted on the system to ensure compliance with regulations and general plans, using all results and evidence downloaded from the system (including high school graduation exam results, high school transcripts, assessment of capacity, thinking, valid foreign language certificates...).

Recently, universities across the country have required candidates to submit proof of admission (international certificates, international language certificates, etc.) for preliminary selection within the time specified by each school.

The Ministry also requires schools to review the announcement of regulations on the difference in scores between admission groups and the rules for converting equivalent admission scores in line with the Ministry's instructions, ensuring fairness, transparency, and accountability to candidates, parents, and state management agencies. The Ministry of Education and Training affirms that training institutions cannot download data and admission information from the system if they have not publicly announced the equivalent conversion of admission scores.

This is one of the notable new points of the 2025 admission season. Accordingly, schools must convert the equivalent admission scores and input thresholds between admission methods and combinations.

Ho Chi Minh City University of Medicine and Pharmacy said that the candidates' data on foreign language certificates registered for admission to the school on the system is unclear, incomplete, and even certificates that do not meet the requirements are submitted. The school has reviewed and made a list of 266 candidates who need to provide information to authenticate international certificates. These candidates, between August 1 and 4, must provide information for the school to authenticate their certificates.
