Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee Ho Van Muoi affirmed that Lam Dong has all the favorable geo-economic factors - border, forest, sea and islands - along with the largest natural area in the country. In that space, nature has bestowed many world-famous landscapes and architectural works, creating the premise for the province to restructure the regional development model, redistribute population, infrastructure, and investment resources according to new strategic directions, opening up breakthrough opportunities in the new era.

The current socio-economic picture of Lam Dong shows a multi-regional, multi-colored, multi-potential development. The West concentrates on aluminum industry, renewable energy, industrial crops for export, forestry economy and eco-tourism. The East has a 192km long coastline, a seaport system and a large wind and solar power center, which is the core of developing the marine economy, green industry, and high-tech ecological urban areas. The political -administrative center is positioned as the "capital" of high-tech agriculture, tourism - services, and cultural industry.
Lam Dong is currently home to 49 ethnic groups, with diverse cultures and unique folk festivals that are preserved and promoted. This is the sustainable spiritual foundation for comprehensive development.
In the period of 2021 - 2025, the province welcomed more than 78 million tourists, including 3.2 million international visitors. Many national and international events such as Da Lat Flower Festival, National Tourism Year 2023 "Binh Thuan - Green Convergence" have contributed to positioning the region's typical tourism brand: "Da Lat - Miraculous crystallization from the good land", "Binh Thuan - Blue sea, white sand, golden sunshine", connecting with Dak Nong UNESCO Global Geopark.
Director of the Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism Nguyen Van Loc believes that the connection between the blue sea, the vast forest and thousands of flowers will turn Lam Dong into a "tourism and resort paradise" of Vietnam and the world.

In the agricultural sector, the province currently has more than 107 thousand hectares of high-tech agriculture, 149.7 thousand hectares of safe production, and has planted more than 22.4 thousand hectares of concentrated forests - exceeding the set target. In addition, 97 wind, hydroelectric and solar power projects are operating with a total capacity of over 3,800 MW, contributing to ensuring energy security and promoting the green economy.
Director of the Department of Agriculture and Environment Ton Thien San said that the province is building a synchronous database on land, water and mineral resources to serve the planning, exploitation and rational, effective and sustainable use of natural resources - the fundamental factor for long-term development.
In recent times, the Provincial Party Committee has led and directed the acceleration of key infrastructure projects, creating momentum for regional development: putting into operation the North-South expressway section Vinh Hao - Phan Thiet - Dau Giay; starting construction of Bao Loc - Lien Khuong, Gia Nghia - Chon Thanh expressways, preparing to start construction of Tan Phu - Bao Loc route.
Thanks to the proactive and flexible leadership and direction, along with the consensus of the entire Party Committee, Lam Dong's average GRDP growth rate in the 2021-2025 period reached more than 6.4%, GRDP per capita reached 106 million VND/year - a solid foundation for the province to enter a new development stage.
According to Chairman Ho Van Muoi, in the 2025-2030 term, the province will continue to promote its potential, effectively mobilize all resources, synchronously implement three development pillars, associated with environmental protection and promoting national cultural identity, striving to become a fairly developed province by 2030, with income above the national average.

Experts believe that, in the current context of regional development, linking economic space is a decisive factor to effectively exploit advantages. Chairman of the Vietnam Urban Development Planning Association Tran Ngoc Chinh emphasized that with a large area and rich natural conditions, Lam Dong needs to organize economic space associated with the inter-regional urban system to become a new economic driving force of the Southern Central Highlands and the South Central Coast.
Dr. Hoang Huu Phe, Institute for Sustainable Development Research, said that Lam Dong must have a scientific master plan, long-term vision, flexible mechanisms and strong enough resources to solve "bottlenecks" and exploit "new opportunities", with the advantage of connecting from the Cambodian border to the East Sea.
With the structure of “multi-regional – multi-color – multi-potential”, Lam Dong is facing a great opportunity to become a model of sustainable development on all three pillars: Modern industry – high-tech agriculture and high-quality services – tourism of the region and the whole country.
