Previously, head coach Kim Sang Sik finalized the list of 23 players for the Vietnam U22 team to participate in men's football at the 33rd SEA Games in Thailand.
Five players said goodbye to the team, including defenders Le Van Ha and Dinh Quang Kiet, midfielders Tran Thanh Trung and Nguyen Duc Viet, and striker Bui Vi Hao.

Mr. Kim Sang Sik gave the captain's armband to Khuat Van Khang, a midfielder born in 2003 who is considered a player with a lot of international experience through major tournaments such as the 2023 Asian Cup finals, 2024 U23 Asia and 2024 AFF Cup.
Van Khang is also an important factor helping U23 Vietnam win the 2025 Southeast Asian U23 Championship and win a ticket to the 2026 Asian U23 Finals. Supporting Khuat Van Khang is vice-captain Nguyen Dinh Bac.
At the 33rd SEA Games, the Vietnam U22 team is in Group B with Malaysia and Laos. According to the adjusted schedule, coach Kim Sang Sik and his team will play the opening match against Laos U22 on December 3, before facing Malaysia U22 on December 11, at Rajamangala Stadium (Bangkok).

With 23 carefully selected players and thorough preparation, coach Kim Sang Sik and his team have the highest determination, aiming to compete for the Gold Medal in men's football - an important goal contributing to the overall success of Vietnamese Sports at the Games.
