Ready for the groundbreaking ceremony.
In preparation for the groundbreaking ceremony of the integrated primary and secondary boarding school in two border communes, Mr. Nguyen Minh, Vice Chairman of the Lam Dong Provincial People's Committee, recently chaired a meeting, both in person and online, at two locations: the People's Committees of Quang Truc and Thuan An communes, to review all preparatory work.
Reports from relevant departments and units at the meeting indicated that, at this point, preparations for the groundbreaking ceremony of the school construction project in Thuan An and Quang Truc communes are basically complete in terms of legal procedures. Issues related to land clearance for handover to the implementing unit have been completed to ensure progress; security and order for the groundbreaking ceremony and support for the central government delegation attending have been meticulously prepared by the relevant authorities.

Speaking at the meeting, Mr. Nguyen Minh highly appreciated the determination of all levels and sectors in implementing the tasks. The Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee stated that each part of the Task Force had demonstrated unity, like "each brick connecting to form a solid block," successfully completing the assigned tasks and resolving more than 83 issues in a short time to ensure the commencement of construction.
The Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee also requested that all relevant departments and units, as well as the two communes of Thuan An and Quang Truc, coordinate closely and review the arrangements for receiving the working group and develop a plan for on-site inspection. The police and military forces need to have detailed plans to ensure security and order throughout the ceremony. The Vice Chairman emphasized that the groundbreaking ceremony must be organized solemnly, safely, economically, and simultaneously with other localities.

Looking forward to the project's groundbreaking ceremony.
According to the plan, the Quang Truc Commune Primary and Secondary Boarding School will be built on land adjacent to the 726th Regiment Medical Clinic (Bon Bu Dar). The project will have 30 classrooms with approximately 1,050 students, and a total investment of over 215 billion VND.
The construction site is located near the center of the commune, adjacent to National Highway 14C, making it convenient for transportation and student life. This area borders the villages of Bu Dăr, Bu Prăng 1A, Bu Nung, Bu Sóp, Bu Gia, and Bu Prăng IIA, which are home to a large concentration of ethnic minorities. The land use plan is consistent with the plan approved by the People's Committee of Dak Nong province in Decision No. 938/QD-UBND dated June 27, 2025.

In Thuan An commune, the boarding school for primary and secondary levels is of a similar scale: 30 classrooms, 1,050 students, and a total investment of over 225 billion VND. The chosen land is in Dak Thuy village, initially 2.6 hectares managed by the commune and already planned as educational land, with the potential to expand to 5 hectares.
The two projects are expected to be completed before August 30, 2026, contributing to creating favorable learning conditions for students and promoting educational development in the border region.
Mr. Bui Minh Hai, head of Bu Prang 2 hamlet, Quang Truc commune, said that the people are excited and looking forward to the project starting soon so that their children can have better learning conditions. "For a long time, the people have hoped for a new school so that their children can study and live in decent conditions. The roads here are difficult to travel on, and the children struggle to get to school, lacking many things due to limited economic resources. Now that the new school is about to start construction, everyone is happy," Mr. Hai shared.
Ms. Thi Huynh also happily said: "We are very grateful that the government has invested in building a new school. With education, the children will have an easier life than their parents did."
In addition to the two projects in Quang Truc and Thuan An that commenced in early November 2025, the province will continue to implement the construction of the remaining boarding schools in border communes during the 2025-2027 period, aiming to complete the education network in border areas, meet the requirements of socio-economic development and ensure national border security.
Lam Dong province currently has five border communes: Quang Truc, Tuy Duc, Thuan Hanh, Thuan An, and Dak Wil. These communes were established after the reorganization of administrative units from the former Dak Nong province. Most of these border communes are classified as particularly disadvantaged, with high poverty rates, weak transportation infrastructure, and scattered populations. Consequently, educational opportunities for children of ethnic minorities remain limited.
