Ready for the groundbreaking ceremony
In preparation for the groundbreaking ceremony of the construction of a primary and secondary boarding school in two border communes, Mr. Nguyen Minh, Vice Chairman of Lam Dong Provincial People's Committee, recently chaired a direct and online meeting at two bridge points of the People's Committees of Quang Truc and Thuan An communes to review all preparations.
Reports from relevant departments and units at the meeting showed that, up to this point, preparations for the groundbreaking ceremony of the school construction project in Thuan An and Quang Truc communes have basically completed legal procedures. Issues related to site clearance for handover to the implementing unit have been completed to ensure progress; security and order work to serve the groundbreaking ceremony and support the reception of the Central delegation have been carefully prepared by the functional forces.

Speaking at the meeting, Mr. Nguyen Minh highly appreciated the determination of all levels and sectors in implementing the tasks. The Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee said that each unit in the Working Group has shown solidarity, like "each brick connecting into a solid block", excellently completing the assigned tasks, solving more than 83 tasks in a short time to start construction.
The Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee also requested all relevant departments, agencies, and the two communes of Thuan An and Quang Truc to coordinate closely and review once again the reception of the working group and develop a plan for on-site inspection. The police and military forces need to have a detailed plan to ensure security and order throughout the ceremony. The Vice Chairman of the People's Committee emphasized that the groundbreaking ceremony must be organized solemnly, safely, economically, and simultaneously with other localities.

Looking forward to the project commencement date
According to the plan, the Quang Truc Commune Primary and Secondary Boarding School will be built on the land adjacent to the 726 Regiment Infirmary (Bon Bu Dar). The project will have 30 classrooms with about 1,050 students, with a total investment of more than 215 billion VND.
The construction site is located near the commune center, adjacent to National Highway 14C, convenient for traffic and student activities. This area is adjacent to the following communes: Bu Dar, Bu Prang 1A, Bu Nung, Bu Sop, Bu Gia, Bu Prang IIA, where many ethnic minorities are concentrated. The land use planning is in accordance with the plan approved by the Dak Nong Provincial People's Committee in Decision No. 938/QD-UBND dated June 27, 2025.

In Thuan An commune, the Primary and Secondary Boarding School has a similar scale: 30 classrooms, 1,050 students, total investment capital of more than 225 billion VND. The land chosen in Dak Thuy village, the initial area of 2.6 hectares is managed by the commune and has been planned as educational land, which can be expanded to 5 hectares.
The two projects are expected to be completed before August 30, 2026, contributing to creating favorable learning conditions for students and promoting educational development in border areas.
Mr. Bui Minh Hai, Head of Bu Prang 2 hamlet, Quang Truc commune, said that people are excited and looking forward to the project starting soon so that local children can have better learning conditions. "For a long time, people have wanted a new school so that their children can study and live properly. The roads here are difficult to travel, the children have a hard time going to school, lacking everything because of limited economic conditions. Now that the new school is about to start construction, everyone is happy," Mr. Hai shared.
Ms. Thi Huynh also excitedly said: "The government invested in building new schools, and we are very grateful. With education, the children will have less hardship than their parents."
In addition to the two projects in Quang Truc and Thuan An that started construction in early November 2025, the province will continue to build the remaining boarding schools in border communes in the 2025-2027 period, aiming to complete the border education network, meet the requirements of socio-economic development and ensure national border security.
Lam Dong province currently has 5 border communes including: Quang Truc, Tuy Duc, Thuan Hanh, Thuan An and Dak Wil. These are communes established after the administrative reorganization of the old Dak Nong province. Most of these border communes are in a particularly difficult situation, with a high rate of poor households, weak transport infrastructure, and scattered population. Therefore, the learning conditions of ethnic minority children are still limited.
