The hybrid working model offers both flexibility and challenges in maintaining productivity.

Not only does hybrid working offer flexibility, it also poses many challenges in terms of efficiency.

Technology "elevates" hybrid working

For millions of office workers around the world, especially in Vietnam, hybrid working is not only a trend but has become the new norm.

This is a hybrid work model where employees flexibly alternate between working in the office and working remotely (usually from home or other locations).

This model allows freelance workers to freely arrange their working time and location, taking advantage of technology such as online collaboration tools (Zoom, Microsoft Teams, Slack) to stay connected and productive.

For example, in a project that requires coordination between departments, using separate channels on Slack or Teams helps keep all information centralized and avoid getting lost in the "sea" of emails.

Screen sharing and virtual whiteboard features in online meetings also effectively simulate face-to-face interaction, helping ideas to be conveyed more clearly and effectively.

This is a breakthrough, eliminating geographical and time zone barriers, helping teams work effectively whether members are in the office, at home or even on a business trip.

Technology has also enhanced the management of tasks and projects in hybrid working environments. Instead of taking messy notes or relying on memory, platforms like Asana, Trello, Jira, and Monday.com allow users to create to-do lists, assign specific tasks, set deadlines, and track progress in detail.

Importantly, these tools provide a holistic view of individual and team workloads. Managers can easily identify bottlenecks, adjust plans, and reallocate resources appropriately.

For employees, having a clear, prioritized, and closely tracked to-do list helps them stay focused, reduces distractions, and increases personal productivity.

Furthermore, automation features like deadline reminders, automatic report generation help reduce administrative burden, allowing workers to focus on more strategic and creative tasks.

Challenges and solutions

However, having the right tools is not enough to maximize productivity. It requires a flexible mindset, a high level of self-management, and a strong awareness of cybersecurity.

Office workers need to proactively learn and update new software features, and at the same time, set clear boundaries between work and personal life to avoid burnout when working remotely.

On the business side, it is necessary to invest in technology infrastructure, provide digital skills training courses for employees, build strict data security policies... Applying solutions such as VPN, multi-factor authentication and regular network security checks will help protect sensitive company information in a distributed working environment.

Hybrid working and technology are creating a completely new working style. For office workers, mastering digital tools and continuously improving technology skills is not only the path to maximum productivity, but also the key factor to adapt and thrive in the context of an increasingly volatile and competitive labor market.

Productivity isn't just about doing more things, it's about doing the right things smarter, and technology is a powerful lever to achieve that goal.
