Visitors will have the opportunity to directly admire 14 original artifacts and 2 versions; the remaining 3 treasures, due to their association with the relic and preservation requirements, will be introduced through a system of documents and photo sets exhibited simultaneously.
The treasures demonstrate the diverse cultural development process of the new Da Nang land with its expanded geographical space – the intersection of Sa Huynh, Dong Son, Champa and Dai Viet cultures.
Two Dong Son cultural treasures, part of the Hoang Long collection, including the Dong Son bronze drum and bronze jar, are vivid evidence of the bronze casting technique and civilization level of the ancient Vietnamese people from the 3rd to 1st century BC.
Two treasures from the Sa Huynh culture, the Lai Nghi gold jewelry collection and the Lai Nghi animal-shaped agate beads, part of the Da Nang Museum's collection, are a mark of the cultural, economic and social achievements of the ancient residents of the Central region from the 3rd century BC to the mid-1st century.
In particular, 15 Champa cultural treasures in the collections of the Cham Sculpture Museum (12 artifacts), the My Son World Cultural Heritage Management Board (2 artifacts), and the Da Nang Museum (1 artifact) are vivid masterpieces, demonstrating the continuity in the development, integration and cultural assimilation process of the Central region from the 7th to the 13th century with the profound influence of Hinduism and Buddhism.
The exhibition not only affirms the cultural and historical value of the treasures, but also emphasizes the role of heritage in the sustainable development strategy of Da Nang city.
On the opening day, the Da Nang Museum of Cham Sculpture organized a series of cultural heritage experience activities including: Pottery polishing using the ancient Bau Truc pottery technique, My Nghiep brocade weaving technique (these are two traditional craft villages of the Cham people in the old Ninh Thuan province, now Khanh Hoa province) and woodblock printing on Do paper with patterns and artifacts modeled after Cham sculpture.
Through these activities, visitors have the opportunity to learn and experience firsthand the process of traditional Cham crafts and folk painting printing techniques; at the same time, have the opportunity to own unique and impressive experiential products as souvenirs of their visit to the Museum.
