Sharing with Thanh Nien Newspaper reporters, a representative of the British Council said that Cau Giay Secondary School (Hanoi) surpassed 750 entries from more than 3,500 students around the world to win the championship at the international film competition Your World 2022-2023. "This is a historic milestone when for the first time, a representative school from Vietnam simultaneously won 3 top prizes at the national, East Asia and global levels," the British Council informed.

The success comes from a three-minute short film about Menthy Club, a social action project that addresses mental health issues at their school. According to the winning team, the short film aims to convey the message that mental health can be a sensitive topic, buteducation and awareness are key to reducing stigma and promoting support and understanding.
"The competition is a great opportunity for us to express our creativity and connect with each other to reveal a perspective on the lives of the members. The international scope of the competition also helps us have a more comprehensive view of communities around the world and the consequences that the pandemic has left on them," the winning team confided. It is known that this is also the second time Cau Giay Secondary School has a representative participating.
Ms. Le Kim Anh, Principal of Cau Giay Secondary School, sees the contest as a useful playground for students to freely create with their passion for cinema and foreign language skills, through which they can express their voices on a practical, global issue. "I hope that the valuable lessons they accumulate and learn after the contest will be the premise for them to continue to shine, and at the same time inspire other students of the school to develop comprehensively and become global citizens," said Ms. Kim Anh.

Speaking at the Your World 2022-2023 awards ceremony on May 12, Mr. Steve Adams, Manager of international examinations programs in East Asia of the British Council, affirmed: "With the Your World competition, the British Council hopes to inspire and motivate students to make positive changes through developing skills to become well-rounded, creative and critical citizens, thereby being ready to enter the international labor market as well as shape their future."
Your World is an annual film-making competition for 14-17 year olds from schools in the British Council's global network of partners. The theme of Your World 2022-2023 is "Good health and Well-being", and the content of the competition is closely linked to the United Nations Sustainable Development Goal 3.
In the third year of participation, Vietnam has 5 representatives all from Hanoi including Cau Giay Secondary School, Trung Vuong Secondary School, Ta Quang Buu Secondary-High School, Chu Van An High School and Hanoi - Amsterdam High School for the Gifted. This is also the third year that Vietnam has joined the British Council's global partner school network with 12 public schools in the Cambridge program and a number of private schools and online learning programs. Worldwide, this network has 2,100 member schools, supporting more than 100,000 teachers and millions of students.
