If we did not meet them in person, we would not believe that these people are at a rare age - some are at least 70 years old, some are over 80, but they still radiate positive energy when talking about family economic development. The whole district currently has 423 elderly people who are farm and business owners who are honored and recognized as excellent economic elderly people at all levels (of which, 388 are honored at the commune level; 30 at the district level; 3 at the provincial level; 2 at the central level...).

A typical example is Mr. Le Van Thoan, Party Cell Secretary, Chairman of the Board of Directors of Nui Coc Lake Hotel and Tourism Joint Stock Company. Over the past 5 years, he and his colleagues have led the Company to grow, achieving a total revenue of more than 200 billion VND; paying the state budget and other obligations of more than 28.5 billion VND; creating jobs for hundreds of workers with an average income of more than 11 million VND/person/month.

In addition, the Company also actively participates in and supports humanitarian charity programs with a total amount of support for localities to repair and build new schools, hospitals, support people with meritorious services, war invalids, veterans, the poor, the lonely, the elderly, etc. of more than 1.4 billion VND. Not to mention other supports such as free visits to Nui Coc Lake Tourist Area, use of services worth hundreds of millions of VND/year.

Mr. Doan Minh Hien, former Director of Viet Cuong Concrete Enterprise, member of the Elderly Association of Phu Xuyen Commune (Dai Tu), has operated a business operating in the following fields: Brick production; asphalt production for industrial parks; concrete production lines; culvert production; mining of soil and stone mines in Na Lay, Quang Son Commune (Dong Hy); construction of the Thai Nguyen Provincial Stadium Project in Phuc Triu Commune, Thai Nguyen City... The enterprise creates jobs for 400 workers with an average income of 10-14 million VND/person/month; and contributes over 386 billion VND to the state budget.

Or Mr. Nguyen Van Hoc, Vice Chairman of the Club of Elderly People with Good Economic Performance in Dai Tu District, with the VAC economic model and trading. He has spent nearly 800 million VND on charity, such as contributing to the construction of pagodas, supporting students who have overcome difficulties to study well, supporting medical stations to buy equipment for medical examination and treatment for people, contributing to the construction of inter-village and inter-hamlet roads, cultural houses, supporting the poor and disadvantaged people... From trading services, he ensures jobs for 30-50 workers with a stable income of 15-22 million VND/person/month.

Mr. Nguyen Duc Tien, Hung Son town; Nguyen Duc Lam, Yen Lang commune, trading in agricultural machinery with annual revenue of over 1 billion VND; Mr. Nguyen Huu Vien, Mr. Le Van Hoan, Khoi Ky commune... with the VAC model, annual income is over 700 million VND...

The older they get, the stronger their will becomes. They do not choose to live a leisurely life with their children and grandchildren, but still try to develop their minds while they are still sharp and their hands to participate in labor, setting an example for their children and grandchildren in developing the family economy.

When the economy is prosperous, the elderly in Dai Tu not only have the conditions to actively participate and support the locality in building a cultural life, building model rural areas, and civilized urban areas, but also mobilize their children and grandchildren to participate and take the lead in donating land, assets on land, cash, and working days to build welfare works to serve the people.

In the past 5 years, members of the Elderly Association in the district have donated over 68,800 square meters of land; contributed nearly 20,000 working days to build rural roads, build public welfare works...
