Spreading the youth startup movement

A typical example of the youth start-up movement in Hoa Vang district is the story of overcoming difficulties and legitimately getting rich of Vo Viet Tu (born in 1992, Hoa Chau commune). Coming from a poor family, Tu had to drop out of school to help his parents. He has done many manual labor jobs such as bricklayer and plasterer but his income is unstable. In 2022, he got married and had two children.

During this time, his father-in-law taught him the technique of growing water lilies, then he experimented with growing them on an area of ​​1,000 square meters. He bred more than 100 different varieties. With suitable soil conditions, water lilies grow and develop well, each plant costs at least 25,000 VND; high-quality water lilies cost 20 million VND. Currently, he continues to expand his water lily growing area to more than 6,000 square meters to supply domestically and the Indian and Thai markets.

In Ngu Hanh Son district, the name Le Duc Thuan (born in 2000) is no longer strange in union activities, especially in the field of event organization. With a dynamic spirit and a desire to start a business, he has gradually asserted himself in the event organization profession - a field with many opportunities but also challenges. During his student years, Thuan participated in union activities, from which he got a chance to work in stage construction and program design.

With capital and experience, Thuan established 3T Event Company, specializing in organizing group events, cultural performances, camps, and community programs. The company creates seasonal jobs for about 30 young people, mainly students and local youth, with an income of 500,000 VND after each program. Ngu Hanh Son District Youth Union regularly introduces and connects programs, activities, camps, cultural performances, summer campaigns, etc. for 3T Event to take on the task of organizing events.

In particular, as Vice President of the Youth Union of Ngu Hanh Son District, Thuan organized and participated in many programs to give gifts, books, and necessities to disadvantaged students in mountainous communes of Quang Nam Province. In 2022, he was honored with the "Youth Living Beautifully" award by the Central Committee of the Vietnam Youth Union.

According to Ngu Hanh Son District Youth Union Secretary Le Xuan Thanh, the District Youth Union always cares about, accompanies, and supports union members and young people in the area to start a business and establish themselves. In particular, it regularly monitors and grasps new startup models to support funding, helping young people have conditions to invest in equipment and production materials.

In addition, act as a bridge with the District Social Policy Bank to introduce young people to borrow capital with preferential interest rates to start a business. Currently, start-up models in the area are effective, creating legitimate sources of income and solving jobs for many workers and young people.

In 2024, the City Youth Union and its branches provided career counseling to 25,237 young people; introduced jobs to 8,820 young people; and supported nearly 30 start-up models of union members and young people. Deputy Secretary of the City Youth Union, Chairman of the City Youth Union Nguyen Ba Duan said that in recent years, the City Youth Union has implemented many solutions to create conditions for young people to start businesses, establish themselves, and develop the economy .

In particular, focusing on career guidance, connecting to support loans, training, coaching, improving knowledge about startups, organizing innovative startup competitions for students. In the coming time, the City Youth Union will continue to promote links with businesses, universities, and training units to equip skills and knowledge for young people with startup ideas.

In addition, support young people to access modern business trends such as e-commerce, digital economy, and creative startup models. “We identify that young people are an important force in the construction and development of the city. The City Youth Union continues to be a trusted companion, providing practical support so that young people can confidently start a business, establish a career, and become rich legitimately in their homeland,” said Nguyen Ba Duan.
