Pham 2 hamlet cultural house, Duong Thanh commune, Phu Binh, is one of 8 cultural houses of the commune newly invested in and built with the consensus and contributions of local people. |
In the period of 2021-2025, the movement "Thai Nguyen joins hands to build new rural areas" continues to spread strongly, breathing new life into all rural areas in the province. The Provincial Fatherland Front Committee and socio- political organizations have flexibly innovated their working methods, strengthened propaganda and mobilization in a way that is close to the people, close to reality, and suitable for each locality and each target group.
In each rural area, the community spirit is aroused through specific actions. The Fatherland Front at all levels not only accompanies propaganda but also directly coordinates the implementation of practical tasks. Specifically, such as organizing the mobilization of working days to participate in the construction of public works; maintaining more than 1,300 effective new rural models (such as national flag-hung roads, bright - green - clean - beautiful roads, security camera surveillance models...).
From changes in propaganda and mobilization, people no longer see this as "the State's work", but as a common work of the community. They are willing to donate land, labor, and money to build roads, cultural houses, schools, etc. Each person has a job, each family has a contribution, all creating a sustainable movement to build new rural areas, originating from the people.
In La Bang commune (Dai Tu), the Association of the Elderly is one of the leading forces. With the spirit of "Old age - Bright example", in the past 5 years, hundreds of members and their children have donated more than 13,000m2 of land, contributed nearly 900 working days, with a total value of about 2 billion VND, to join the locality in building the new rural area.
Ms. Vu Thi Nam, Chairwoman of the Commune Elderly Association, emotionally shared: I personally donated 217 square meters of residential land and 112 meters of fence. Donating land is not only for today, but also for future generations to walk on wider, cleaner roads...
The concrete road to Ban Dong hamlet, On Luong commune, Phu Luong, will be completed at the end of 2024, creating a new look for the locality. |
After achieving the NTM standard in 2018, Duong Thanh commune (Phu Binh) did not stop at the existing results. The locality has built a roadmap to achieve advanced, exemplary NTM standards, with specific and drastic steps. During the process of merging hamlets, many cultural houses were degraded and could no longer meet the needs of community activities. The commune Party Committee issued a thematic resolution, clearly identifying: building standard cultural institutions is a key task.
From policy to action, the hamlet party cells held meetings with the people, agreed on ways to do things, and mobilized resources from the people. From 2023 to now, the commune has built 8 new, spacious, and well-equipped cultural houses, each worth from 800 million to 1.5 billion VND.
Comrade Nguyen Van Ai, Party Secretary, Chairman of the People's Council of Duong Thanh commune: People discuss, people do, people inspect, people benefit - that consensus is the "key" to our success.
Up to now, the whole province has 3/3 cities completing the task of building new rural areas, 4/6 districts meeting new rural standards (Dai Tu, Dinh Hoa, Phu Binh, Phu Luong); 117/121 communes meeting new rural standards (accounting for 97% of the total number of communes), exceeding the target set by the Resolution of the 20th Provincial Party Congress. The poverty rate is only 1.54%.
The appearance of Thai Nguyen countryside is increasingly improving. Economic and social infrastructure has been invested synchronously; transportation is more convenient; schools and medical stations have been upgraded; cultural institutions have been supplemented to meet the daily needs of the people. The grassroots political system has been consolidated, security and order have been maintained.
Along with the development of infrastructure, people's lives and economic thinking have changed a lot. In localities, many high-tech agricultural models have appeared, the chain is linked to product consumption and the OCOP Program is developing strongly, helping to increase people's income. In 2024, the average income per capita is estimated to reach 119 million VND/person/year.
One of the key factors contributing to the success of the movement is skillful mass mobilization and promoting the strength of national solidarity. The Fatherland Front and mass organizations play a core role in mobilizing, supervising, and providing social criticism, arousing the spirit of autonomy and creativity among the people.
In the coming time, the Provincial Fatherland Front Committee will continue to closely follow the province's project and plan on implementing the National Target Program on New Rural Construction for the period 2026-2030, specifying the tasks of the Fatherland Front in participating in New Rural Construction to propagate and mobilize people to respond to implementation. With a clear goal: building advanced, exemplary, comprehensive and sustainable New Rural Construction. In which it is clearly defined: people are the center, the grassroots are the foundation, efficiency is the measure of success for each activity.
