Song Cong City Electricity workers handle power grid problems. |
Mr. Duong Van Hop, Director of Song Cong City Electricity, said: The unit currently manages and operates 235km of medium voltage lines and 385km of low voltage lines, with 135 transformer stations. In order to proactively respond to the challenges of power supply during the hot season, the unit has promptly implemented solutions to "keep" the power flow uninterrupted.
At the beginning of the rainy season, the City Electricity Department coordinated with specialized units to clear trees, increase propaganda to protect the safety corridor of the power grid and prevent electrical accidents to the people. Review, inspect, and urge households to replace wires after the meter that are not guaranteed, add support columns for lines with large sags, wires on the roof. Replace support columns for damaged bamboo and wooden poles and arrange and bundle wires on electric poles to minimize electrical incidents.
Along with that, Song Cong City Power Company also reviewed the entire power grid system, fixed the conflict points to limit incidents. Strengthened maintenance, repair, and replacement of old equipment that is at risk of failure. In particular, the relay protection system, SCADA and automation equipment are checked to ensure stable operation to minimize the risk of widespread power outages. In order to promptly handle power grid incidents, the unit also arranged a 24/7 standby force, closely monitoring warnings and forecasts about storms and rains affecting the power grid infrastructure to promptly overcome and repair.
Along with the above solutions, in recent years, Song Cong City Power Company has also regularly consulted with Thai Nguyen Power Company (PC Thai Nguyen) to invest in local power infrastructure. Accordingly, in 2024, Song Cong City will invest in overload prevention projects in residential areas, including 5 transformer stations (total investment cost is over 10 billion VND).
From the beginning of 2025 until now, Song Cong City continues to invest about 11 billion VND to build 5 new transformer stations to prevent overloading of existing transformer stations that are already fully loaded, 14.5 billion VND to renovate low-voltage lines and upgrade 14 transformer stations. |
Not only focusing on implementing technical solutions and investing in electricity infrastructure, in recent times, Song Cong City Power Company has also regularly coordinated with the Center for Culture, Sports and Communications of Song Cong City to strengthen propaganda work, raising awareness of people and businesses in using electricity safely and economically. Accordingly, this movement has also received positive responses from customers, especially manufacturing enterprises.
Typically, Thai Nguyen Electrolytic Zinc Factory (located in Song Cong I Industrial Park) is a business that saves electricity quite effectively. Mr. Nguyen Van Dat, Deputy Director of the Factory, shared: Every month, the Factory consumes from 4.5 to 5 million kWh of electricity, accounting for about 1/4 of the cost of zinc ingot products. To save electricity without affecting production activities, the Factory's Board of Directors has stepped up inspection and supervision work and paid attention to directing specialized departments to have a special care mechanism for the zinc electrolytic tank area. Along with that, the Factory maintains a stable production mode during normal and off-peak hours, avoiding production during peak hours.
Mr. Duong Van Hop, Director of Song Cong City Electricity, affirmed: With the careful preparation of the staff, workers and employees of the unit, the positive response of customers in using electricity reasonably, this year's hot season, the electricity supply in Song Cong City is guaranteed to be stable.
