The program was organized under the auspices of the Consulate General of Vietnam in Osaka, aiming to celebrate the 135th birthday of President Ho Chi Minh (May 19, 1890 - May 19, 2025) - the beloved leader of the Vietnamese people, who always had a special love for children. More than 60 children and about 200 Vietnamese families living in Japan participated in the program.
Speaking at the event, Ms. Nguyen Hai Yen - Head of Consular Department, Consulate General of Vietnam in Osaka expressed her emotion at the children's love for their homeland, and highly appreciated the initiative to organize meaningful cultural activities, helping the young generation of Vietnamese people in Japan understand and be proud of their national origin. The paintings of the children today are not only artistic products but also patriotic messages, a cultural bridge between the two homelands.

First prize in the Painting Contest was awarded to Ngo Khac Bao (9 years old). |
The drawing contest, launched in March 2025, has attracted a large number of children to participate, with nearly 50 works sent from Vietnamese language classes across Japan. The innocent drawings depict the homeland through the eyes of children - bamboo fences, rice fields, conical hats or loving family reunions...
After the scoring process, the Organizing Committee awarded: 1 first prize (the prize is 1 round-trip air ticket Vietnam-Japan, sponsored by Sunshine Global Company), 2 second prizes, 3 third prizes and 5 consolation prizes.
Through each stroke, we see the "little hearts" turning towards their homeland - towards the most beautiful things of childhood: the countryside, the sea, the school, grandparents and parents, and the image of Uncle Ho with his gentle smile.
Ms. Le Thuong - representative of the Organizing Committee of the painting contest
Representing the Organizing Committee, Ms. Le Thuong - President of the General Association of Vietnamese in the Kansai region said: “Uncle Ho's love for children is the inspiration for us to organize this painting contest - with the hope that children can express their feelings for their homeland, their country, and especially for beloved Uncle Ho. The funny, innocent paintings, imbued with Vietnamese identity, have truly touched the hearts of the Organizing Committee. Through each stroke, we see the "little hearts" turning towards their homeland - towards the most beautiful things of childhood: the countryside, the sea, the school, grandparents and parents, and the image of Uncle Ho with his gentle smile".

According to Ms. Le Thuong, the Organizing Committee hopes that through this contest, children will not only practice their artistic appreciation, but also learn more about their homeland and beloved Uncle Ho. This is a way for each child, no matter where they were born, to keep the Vietnamese flame in their hearts.
In addition to the award ceremony, the program to celebrate International Children's Day (June 1) brought a bustling, warm atmosphere with performances, folk games and many gifts for the children. Many parents shared their emotions when seeing their children integrate into a space full of Vietnamese culture in the heart of Osaka.
