In mid-September 2023, Thanh Binh Thinh commune was recognized as a model NTM commune with outstanding achievements in rural occupations - Thai Yen traditional carpentry village. This is the joy and pride of the local people and government when Thanh Binh Thinh is one of the 5 communes recognized by the Provincial People's Committee as meeting the model NTM standards in the first phase of 2023.

In 2020, Thanh Binh Thinh commune was merged from 3 communes: Duc Thanh, Thai Yen and Duc Thinh (Duc Tho). At first, the locality faced many difficulties due to its large population (16,578 people), uneven income, and lack of resources for infrastructure investment...

Despite the difficulties, with the determination to build a strong homeland, the Party Committee and the government of Thanh Binh Thinh commune determined that: in addition to promoting propaganda work to create consensus and mobilize the combined strength of the people, it is necessary to focus on developing traditional carpentry villages to increase income, creating a solid foundation for building a model new rural area with outstanding fields in rural industries.

Thai Yen carpentry village contributes more than 70% of total industrial and handicraft revenue of Thanh Binh Thinh commune.

Mr. Nguyen Tien Dat - Secretary of Thanh Binh Thinh Commune Party Committee said: "In order for the carpentry profession to develop sustainably, the locality has built many policies to attract businesses to invest in production infrastructure; seek consumer markets; promote the building of the collective brand "Moc Thai Yen"... In particular, promoting the advantages of Thai Yen Industrial Cluster, production and business establishments operate stably... Thanks to that, the craft village develops, bringing in stable income for establishments, contributing to creating jobs for thousands of local workers".

Thai Yen traditional carpentry village currently has 56 enterprises and more than 1,050 production households, creating jobs for nearly 2,000 workers, with an average income of 8.6 million VND/person/month. Each year, the craft village contributes more than 70% of the total industrial and handicraft revenue of the commune.

"Thai Yen carpentry village is a highlight in the local new-style rural area construction with 5 OCOP products (1 4-star product and 4 3-star products). This is one of the key criteria to help the commune achieve the model new-style rural area standard in the outstanding field of rural occupations in 2023. In the coming time, the locality will continue to develop policies to support people in developing the carpentry profession sustainably", emphasized the Secretary of the Thanh Binh Thinh Commune Party Committee.

The newly renovated roads create the premise for the development of Thanh Binh Thinh commune.

Along with paying attention to developing traditional carpentry villages, in order to successfully build a model new-style rural commune, Thanh Binh Thinh commune has also actively mobilized people to donate land to open roads, contributing thousands of working days to build and expand rural roads, renovate mixed gardens, build bright - green - beautiful roads...

In Gia Thinh village, since the construction of the new rural area, the landscape of village roads and alleys has become bright, green, clean and beautiful. The people's lives in the village have been significantly improved both materially and spiritually, creating new vitality.

Ms. Tran Thi Hong Nhi - Head of Gia Thinh village said: "Although the village was recognized as a model new rural residential area since 2021, we clearly understand that building a new rural area has no end point. Therefore, we have been mobilizing contributions from our hometown's children and people to continue to renovate the cultural house campus, upgrade the traffic system..."

It is known that since the beginning of the year, Gia Thinh village has paved 1.2 km of asphalt road, mobilized 130 million VND from various sources to renovate 2 soccer fields, demolished small plots to form large plots of nearly 17 hectares...

The consensus and positivity of the people have helped Thanh Binh Thinh commune achieve many positive results in building new rural areas.

Mr. Nguyen Van Tuyen (born in 1952), in Binh Dinh village, shared: “From a purely agricultural countryside, lacking infrastructure and roads that had not been invested in, my hometown now has completely paved roads. The village cultural house, commune health station, volleyball court, soccer field, school... have all been invested in and built spaciously.

That is the result of our people's unanimous donation of land to open roads and contributions to build the new rural area, and we ourselves have benefited, so everyone is excited and has the responsibility to preserve and promote the value."

Not only in Binh Dinh and Gia Thinh villages, but also in the remaining 12 villages in Thanh Binh Thinh commune, many activities and projects are being implemented to build the countryside more and more beautiful and prosperous.

It is known that since the beginning of the year, implementing the model new rural construction movement, Thanh Binh Thinh commune has built more than 1.1 km of rural roads, more than 1.34 km of intra-field canals, planted nearly 800 shade trees, renovated 78 household gardens; installed 1.3 km of electricity lines, installed wifi and security cameras at village cultural houses.... The current average income per capita of the locality has reached 52.2 million VND/year.

The movement to build new rural areas in the locality has been receiving consensus and positive response from the people.
