Ngoc Lac improves the quality of OCOP products

(Baothanhhoa.vn) - As a mountainous district with abundant agricultural resources and great potential to develop into OCOP products, in recent years, Ngoc Lac district has promoted propaganda, gradually exploiting the potential and advantages of the locality to develop typical agricultural products into OCOP products.

Huong Ngoc vermicelli is a product of Thanh Cong Agricultural, Commercial and Construction Service Cooperative.

With the support of the District People's Committee, in 2021, Thanh Cong Agricultural, Commercial and Construction Service Cooperative (Ngoc Lien commune) was established with 9 members, and simultaneously developed Huong Ngoc cassava vermicelli into an OCOP product. During the implementation process, the cooperative received 50 million VND in support from the district, 70 million VND from the province, and capital from its members to invest in machinery, workshops, and raw material areas, with a total value of nearly 1 billion VND.

All processes in the production of cassava vermicelli, from raw material selection to processing, are carried out in a closed system, ensuring food safety and hygiene. In addition, the cooperative has improved the design, packaging, and labels, and focused on promoting the product...

Thanks to numerous efforts, in June 2021, Huong Ngoc vermicelli, a product of Thanh Cong Agricultural, Commercial and Construction Service Cooperative, was recognized by the Thanh Hoa Provincial People's Committee as a 3-star OCOP product at the provincial level. The quality of Huong Ngoc vermicelli is constantly improving, meeting the needs of customers both within and outside the province.

The Kim Hoang Hau yellow melon product of Kien Tho Agricultural Service Cooperative has been recognized as an OCOP product.

According to Pham Thi Ha, Head of the Agriculture and Environment Department of Ngoc Lac District: Implementing the "One Commune, One Product (OCOP)" program, Ngoc Lac district has intensified its efforts to disseminate information to a wide range of people; and guided businesses in registering to participate in the program. Participating businesses have focused on improving and perfecting their products, establishing intellectual property rights, and building websites for online sales... Thanks to these proactive measures, as of April 2025, Ngoc Lac district had 16 products achieving OCOP 3-star rating, widely sold in supermarkets and dealerships both within and outside the district.

Currently, Ngoc Lac district is focusing on directing localities to improve the quality of agricultural products; promoting and introducing products, creating maximum conditions for entities to participate in trade promotion at fairs, exhibitions, and tourism activities; and at the same time incorporating OCOP into the action program to develop socio -economic development associated with building new rural areas.
