According to a VNA reporter in Tokyo, on July 20, Chairman of the Presidium of the Central Executive Committee of the Communist Party of Japan Shii Kazuo wrote an article expressing his deep sorrow and regret over the passing of General Secretary Nguyen Phu Trong, recalling the deep memories of his meetings with the General Secretary, in which Chairman Shii Kazuo remembered that "Comrade Nguyen Phu Trong was a friend with whom he could talk openly and sincerely."
On the same day, Akahata newspaper, the mouthpiece of the Japanese Communist Party, published on its front page the announcement of the Central Executive Committee of the Communist Party of Vietnam about the passing of General Secretary Nguyen Phu Trong.
According to Akahata newspaper, General Secretary Nguyen Phu Trong has assumed this responsibility since 2011. As the theoretical pillar of the Party, the General Secretary is responsible for building the political line of the Communist Party of Vietnam and promoting Doi Moi for many years.
In 2021, General Secretary Nguyen Phu Trong wrote an article: "Some theoretical and practical issues on socialism and the path to socialism in Vietnam."
Since 2013, the General Secretary has become Head of the Central Steering Committee on preventing and combating corruption and promoting anti-corruption work.
In terms of diplomacy, Vietnam, under the leadership of the Communist Party headed by General Secretary Nguyen Phu Trong, has implemented a comprehensive and flexible diplomatic policy, while at the same time persistently pursuing a policy of self-reliance and independence.
Vietnam has actively conducted high-level diplomacy with the US, China, Russia and Japan as well as regional diplomacy with ASEAN countries and has formed strategic partnerships with major countries.

The Communist Party of Sri Lanka has flown its flag at half-mast at its headquarters to bid farewell to General Secretary Nguyen Phu Trong.
In an interview with a VNA correspondent in South Asia, General Secretary of the Communist Party of Sri Lanka Dr. G. Weerasinghe affirmed that General Secretary Nguyen Phu Trong is an inspirational revolutionary leader who has promoted the Vietnamese revolutionary spirit and contributed to orienting the development of socialism in Vietnam in the modern era.
The leader of the Communist Party of Sri Lanka praised the role and great contributions of General Secretary Nguyen Phu Trong to the revolutionary cause of the Communist Party of Vietnam and the happiness of the Vietnamese people.
The General Secretary was also an outstanding theorist in the international communist movement and a close friend of the Communist Party of Sri Lanka.
Speaking to VNA reporters in Latin America and the Caribbean after hearing the news of General Secretary Nguyen Phu Trong's passing, José Miguel Mejía Abreu, General Secretary of the United Left Movement (MIU) and Minister of Integration and Regional Policy of the Dominican Republic, expressed his condolences to the comrade he respected and admired, emphasizing that General Secretary Nguyen Phu Trong's passing is a great loss for the Vietnamese people and friends around the world.

Mr. Mejía Abreu was impressed and admired the personality of General Secretary Nguyen Phu Trong. According to him, General Secretary Nguyen Phu Trong is an exemplary, modest, friendly person with great compassion, political vision and steadfastness that inspires those fighting for freedom and the right to self-determination of his people.
According to Mr. José Miguel Mejía Abreu, throughout his life, General Secretary Nguyen Phu Trong has created many great legacies, including the work of Party building and rectification, proactive criticism and self-criticism, making the Communist Party of Vietnam increasingly stronger, realizing its pioneering role in the comprehensive development process of Vietnam.
He said that the anti-corruption campaign with no forbidden zones launched by General Secretary Nguyen Phu Trong demonstrates the practical application of moral, ethical and revolutionary principles by the Communist Party of Vietnam, helping the country's development policies to be implemented smoothly.
Previously, the official website of the MIU Party posted an article “General Secretary Nguyen Phu Trong: a life of dedication, an everlasting legacy” highlighting General Secretary Nguyen Phu Trong’s contributions to the cause of building the Party and the country of Vietnam.
MIU stressed that the Vietnamese people will forever remember the contributions of General Secretary Nguyen Phu Trong, especially the fight against corruption and the General Secretary's steadfast principles.

According to VNA correspondent in Paris, National Secretary of the French Communist Party Fabien Roussel expressed condolences to Vietnam.
In a post on the French Communist Party’s social media account X, Secretary Roussel wrote: “I am deeply saddened to learn of the passing of Mr. Nguyen Phu Trong, General Secretary of the Communist Party of Vietnam. I would like to express my most sincere condolences to the Communist Party of Vietnam and the Vietnamese people."
Speaking to a VNA reporter in Prague, former Chairman of the Communist Party of Czechoslovakia and former Vice Chairman of the House of Representatives of the Czech Republic, Vojtech Filip, expressed his deep condolences and highly appreciated General Secretary Nguyen Phu Trong's contributions to the cause of building and developing Vietnam as well as the Party building work, and recalled the good memories of his meetings with General Secretary Nguyen Phu Trong.
Mr. Vojtech Filip recalled meeting comrade Nguyen Phu Trong many times and discussing inter-party issues as well as the good cooperative relationship between the Czech Republic and Vietnam.
Mr. Vojtech Filip emphasized that under the leadership of the Communist Party of Vietnam headed by General Secretary Nguyen Phu Trong, Vietnam has become the leading developing economy in ASEAN in recent years.
In addition, the former leader of the Czech-Morava Communist Party stated that overcoming the consequences of war and building a socialist-oriented market economy in Vietnam requires a number of important and complicated decisions in both urban and rural political work and in the international arena, and must face pressure from many sides.
