City leaders work with Korea Semiconductor Industry Association (KSIA)

At the meeting, Vice Chairman of the City People's Committee Tran Chi Cuong informed the Korea Semiconductor Industry Association about the socio -economic development of Da Nang city in recent times and said that high-tech industry is one of the key areas that the city is focusing resources on developing, along with tourism and marine economy.

Da Nang is one of three localities selected to build and develop the National Semiconductor Research, Design and Manufacturing Center.

Recently, the Vietnamese National Assembly passed a Resolution on the organization of urban government and piloted a number of specific mechanisms and policies for the development of Da Nang city, including preferential and supportive policies for strategic partners and strategic investors in the semiconductor sector.

The Vice Chairman of the City People's Committee hopes that based on the positive results from the recent official visit to Korea by Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh, Da Nang will have the opportunity to cooperate with the Semiconductor Industry Association in developing high-quality human resources and promoting and calling on the Association's member companies to cooperate, invest and do business in the city.

Vice President of the Korea Semiconductor Industry Association Ahn Ki Huyn highly appreciated Vietnam's advantages in terms of young, dynamic, abundant human resources at low costs in general and Da Nang's semiconductor industry development plan in particular.

Mr. Ahn Ki Huyn said that the bilateral cooperation relationship between Vietnam and Korea has developed remarkably and achieved many remarkable achievements.

In the field of industrial production, Samsung is currently the largest foreign direct investor in Vietnam. In particular, in the coming time, the two countries will continue to strengthen and expand cooperation in the field of semiconductor chips.

The Vice President of the Semiconductor Industry Association will introduce information on investment opportunities in the semiconductor industry in Da Nang to member companies interested in expanding investment and propose that the city strengthen the development of high-quality human resources, focusing on international cooperation in training in the semiconductor industry.

In the coming time, the Korea Semiconductor Industry Association and the Da Nang Microchip Design Research and Training Center will study and propose specific cooperation programs related to training. In addition, the representative of the Korea Semiconductor Industry Association shared experiences in supporting the development of the Korean semiconductor industry with the Da Nang delegation.

On this occasion, Vice Chairman of the City People's Committee Tran Chi Cuong invited leaders of the Korea Semiconductor Industry Association to visit and work in Da Nang in the coming time.

The Korea Semiconductor Industry Association (KSIA) is a non-profit organization established to promote and support the Korean semiconductor industry. KSIA was established in 1991 and plays an important role in developing and protecting the interests of companies operating in the semiconductor sector in Korea. Currently, the Association has nearly 300 member enterprises operating in all stages of the semiconductor value chain, of which many members are large companies in the Korean semiconductor industry such as Samsung Electronics, SK Hynix, etc.
