Lao Cai determined to achieve economic growth target in 2025

Attending the meeting were comrade Hoang Quoc Khanh, member of the Provincial Party Standing Committee, Permanent Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee; comrade Nguyen Trong Hai, member of the Provincial Party Standing Committee, Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee; leaders of relevant departments, branches, and leaders of localities in the province.

According to the report of the Department of Finance, by March 25, 2025, all 302 tasks in the plan had been implemented, reaching 100% progress. However, the number of completed tasks was low, with 54 tasks completed, reaching 17.8%.

The service sector has the most positive progress, with 42% of tasks completed; industry reached 31.8%; construction reached 12%; agriculture has not yet completed any tasks.

By unit, the Department of Industry and Trade and the Provincial Economic Zone Management Board have the highest completion rate with 50% of tasks completed, while the Department of Construction, Department of Finance, and Department of Agriculture and Environment are still implementing most of their assigned tasks. Lao Cai districts, towns and cities have mostly just started implementing, with very few tasks completed.

Delegates attending the meeting focused on discussing difficulties, obstacles and problems in implementing tasks; pointed out the causes and discussed solutions to achieve the socio-economic growth target in 2025.

In his speech, Mr. Trinh Xuan Truong, Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee and Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee, acknowledged the active participation of departments, branches and localities in implementing the tasks according to the plan, but emphasized that the completion progress is still slow. In the context of 2025 being an important pivotal year, the province needs to resolutely implement solutions to achieve the growth target of over 10%.

The Provincial Party Secretary and Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee requested units and localities to review unfinished tasks and promptly propose solutions to remove difficulties and ensure progress. Departments, branches and localities must enhance their responsibilities and consider the results of task implementation as a criterion for evaluating the emulation of each unit and leader. At the same time, it is necessary to be flexible in directing and operating to avoid delays that affect the common goals of the province...
