British King's coronation costs more than 90 million USD

A report from the British government on November 21 revealed that the cost of the coronation of King Charles III in May 2023 cost at least 72 million pounds (more than 90 million USD).

Of which, the UK Department of Culture, Media and Sport spent more than 50 million pounds on organizing the ceremony and related events, and the UK Home Office spent nearly 22 million pounds on security, according to The Guardian newspaper.

Opponents say it is a waste of money, given the economic hardship that has forced governments and citizens to tighten their belts. Last year's coronation of King Charles III was attended by many international dignitaries, followed by a star-studded concert.
