The Ooc Om Boc Festival - Ngo Boat Racing in Soc Trang province will have many exciting activities.

STO - On the afternoon of May 27, at the People's Committee of Soc Trang province, comrade Nguyen Van Khoi - Provincial Party Committee member, Vice Chairman of the People's Committee of Soc Trang province chaired a meeting to listen to the report on the draft plan to organize the Ooc Om Boc Festival - Ngo Boat Racing in Soc Trang province (referred to as the festival) in 2025. Also attending were leaders of relevant departments and branches.

At the meeting, leaders of the Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism of Soc Trang presented the draft plan for organizing the festival in 2025, with main activities including: Festival opening program; Ngo boat racing; Moon worshiping ceremony; Loiprotip competition (releasing water lanterns) and Ca Hau boat performance (expected to have 20 water lanterns and 3 Ca Hau boats participating); Trade promotion fair for OCOP products of Soc Trang province and regional specialties... The highlight of the festival is the traditional Ngo boat racing, expected to have about 60 male and female Ngo boat teams participating.

Delegates discussed and contributed ideas on printing invitations, managing and controlling tickets; ensuring security and order, festival organization time; budget estimates, festival propaganda, attention to fundraising, bidding for the festival opening ceremony, locations, and venues, etc.

Comrade Nguyen Van Khoi agreed to consolidate some main activities in the festival; at the same time, he requested the Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism and the Provincial Police to advise on printing and controlling tickets. The Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism will receive and supplement some opinions from delegates to complete the draft plan for organizing the festival. Relevant units need to develop a specific plan to effectively implement the upcoming festival.
