After an explosive opening round with a bogey-free 66 (-6) to take joint lead on the leaderboard, Le Khanh Hung continued to bring Vietnamese fans an emotional day of competition in round 2 of the Asia-Pacific Amateur Championship (AAC) 2025.

Starting the day with 3 consecutive birdies on the first holes, then adding birdies on holes 6 and 10, Khanh Hung raised his total score to (-11) and took sole possession of the top spot - bringing pride and excitement to the fans watching from home.

Although he encountered some difficulties in the following holes, causing his score to drop, the 17-year-old golfer promptly came back with two important birdies at holes 15 and 17, closing the round with 67 strokes (-5).

After 36 holes, Khanh Hung kept a total score of (-11) and continued to maintain the joint leading position with Rintaro Nakano of Japan.

Meanwhile, Nguyen Duc Son, the remaining representative of Vietnam, finished the first two rounds with +5, ranked T54 to pass the cut for the first time in this tournament.

Co-organized by The Masters Tournament, The R&A and Asia-Pacific Golf Confederation (APGC), the AAC is the most prestigious tournament for amateur golfers in the region. Therefore, the champion will receive an invitation to participate in the two most prestigious majors in the world - The Masters and The Open Championship.

With his current form, Khanh Hung is very close to that opportunity - something that has never happened in the history of Vietnamese golf. The best result of Vietnamese representatives at this tournament is currently the T7 position of Nguyen Anh Minh in 2023 at Royal Melbourne, Australia.
