Nhu Xuan Labor Federation innovates propaganda work

The Nhu Xuan District Labor Federation established the Cultural Postal Union to diversify members into the union organization.

Currently, the district has 87 grassroots trade unions, with 2,550 union members working in administrative agencies, public service units, communes, towns and enterprises. Compared to the beginning of the 2023-2028 term, the number of union members has increased by 466 people; at the same time, the district has newly established 8 grassroots trade unions and 2 trade unions. These are numbers that reflect the increasingly strong influence and position of trade unions in local political and social life.

To achieve this result, the District Labor Federation (LDB) identified propaganda as the “key” to improving the quality of organization and attracting union members. Accordingly, communication work was deployed synchronously, harmoniously combining direct and online, traditional and modern.

Notably, the application of digital technology is promoted, effectively utilizing platforms such as Facebook, Zalo, TikTok... to convey information in a vivid and attractive way. Since the beginning of the year, nearly 150 news and propaganda articles have been posted, with rich content, deeply reflecting the activities of trade union organizations, highlighting typical collectives and individuals, good models in caring for workers' lives. The articles received thousands of interactions and shares, creating positive effects on cyberspace.

Along with that, the trade unions at all levels in the district also strengthen coordination with press and media agencies and the district's Center for Culture - Information - Sports and Tourism to disseminate information. The content focuses on propagating the Party's guidelines and resolutions, the State's policies and laws, especially issues closely related to workers such as social insurance, health insurance, labor safety, prevention of workplace harassment, etc.

Not only focusing on communication on cyberspace and the press, trade unions at all levels also organize many direct legal propaganda sessions at the grassroots level, through conferences, thematic activities, and policy dialogues. Chairman of the Thanh Lam Commune grassroots trade union, Vi Thanh Cong, said: "We regularly coordinate to organize propaganda on traffic safety, fire prevention, fire fighting, and prevention of social evils... Such direct propaganda sessions help union members better understand their rights and obligations, thereby raising awareness of self-protection."

Notably, the District Labor Federation also proactively coordinated with the Department of Labor - Invalids and Social Affairs, the Department of Justice, the Vietnam Fatherland Front Committee and other organizations to organize direct dialogues on labor policies and laws. This is an effective two-way information channel, helping workers to answer questions, access information promptly, and at the same time reflect their legitimate aspirations to the authorities.

Chairman of the Nhu Xuan District Labor Federation Doan Duc Luu said: "Innovation in propaganda not only helps workers understand their rights and responsibilities, but also serves as a lever for the trade union to promote its representative role, care for and protect union members better. In particular, the district trade union also promotes its role as a representative of the voice of workers at meetings with voters and National Assembly deputies and People's Council deputies at all levels. Through that, many practical recommendations related to wage policies, insurance, working conditions, etc. have been promptly reflected to all levels and sectors, contributing to protecting the legitimate rights and interests of workers, enhancing the role of policy consultation and supervision in practice."

With the right orientation, methodical and creative approach, the propaganda work of the Nhu Xuan district trade union is increasingly effective, creating an important foundation for building a strong trade union organization, contributing to promoting harmonious, stable and progressive labor relations in the new period.
