He informed about the Conclusion Notice No. 81-TB/TW dated July 18, 2025 of the Politburo , which agreed on the investment policy to build boarding schools for primary and secondary levels in 248 land border communes. It is expected that Nghe An will have a number of schools in this category. Standing Deputy Secretary of Nghe An Provincial Party Committee Hoang Nghia Hieu gave an overview of the province's socio-economic development situation, emphasizing the positive results that Nghe An has achieved in recent times. At the same time, he acknowledged the practical and timely support of the Vietnam Union of Friendship Organizations and international organizations for the province in social security work, especially in difficult times due to natural disasters.
He said that the recent flood was considered a historic flood with a probability of only about 0.02% - equivalent to once in 5,000 years. Prolonged heavy rain caused serious damage in many mountainous communes of Nghe An, including My Ly commune, where more than 1,000 people lost all their houses, properties and means of production. Thanks to early proactive evacuation, there were no human casualties, but due to the high risk of landslides and flash floods, people cannot return to their old homes; the province is urgently looking for new resettlement sites and implementing temporary support measures to stabilize their lives.
The total damage caused by the floods was estimated at VND3,600 billion, equivalent to 1.8% of the province's GRDP. More than 7,000 houses were collapsed, buried, severely damaged or swept away. Immediately after the disaster, the entire political system stepped in to ensure that no one was left without food, clothing, shelter or education.

He affirmed that the support is not only of material value but also a great source of spiritual encouragement for people in flood-hit areas. Provincial leaders pledged to distribute all support resources to the right subjects, for the right purposes and in the shortest time, contributing to helping people overcome difficulties and stabilize their lives.
