The activities were carried out in the waters of Truong Sa and Phu Quy Special Zones and the Vietnam-Malaysia border area.
During the propaganda campaign, the fisheries control force focused on disseminating the provisions of Vietnamese law and international practices related to aquatic exploitation. The propaganda content helps fishermen understand prohibited acts such as: fishing without a license, using prohibited fishing gear, fishing in the wrong area, wrong route, encroaching on foreign waters, not keeping a fishing log, not installing or intentionally disabling a voyage monitoring device (VMS)... Thereby, fishermen are instructed on how to keep a log, preserve seafood according to the correct procedures, and carry out reporting procedures when entering and leaving ports and during the exploitation process.

The fisheries surveillance force also encourages fishermen to raise their sense of responsibility in protecting aquatic resources, proactively coordinate with functional forces in monitoring, managing and preventing IUU fishing activities. Fishing vessels are encouraged to promptly notify and provide information when detecting signs of violations, contributing to building a transparent, healthy and sustainable fishing environment in fishing grounds.
Not only propagating through loudspeakers, radios and fishing communication channels, the fisheries control force also combined leaflet distribution and direct communication with each crew member to ensure that the information reached the right target, was easy to understand and remember. During this period, the ships of Fisheries Control Squadron No. 4 directly propagandized to 41 fishing boats with 501 crew members; distributed 204 leaflets, and presented 48 national flags to encourage fishermen to confidently go out to sea and stick to the sea. Through the fisheries communication system, the fisheries control force propagandized to 21 fishing boats with 779 fishermen.

In addition, Fisheries Control Team No. 4 organized support with rice, vegetables, fresh water and essential necessities for many fishing boats facing difficulties in the fishing grounds. These are practical actions, demonstrating the spirit of accompanying fishermen, helping them feel secure in production, contributing to protecting the sovereignty of the sacred sea and islands of the Fatherland.

In practice, when awareness is raised, the majority of fishermen have proactively complied with regulations on fisheries exploitation and actively cooperated with authorities in monitoring and protecting marine resources.
The promotion of propaganda and support for fishermen by Fisheries Surveillance Team No. 4 not only contributes to limiting IUU fishing violations but also spreads a sense of responsibility in the fishing community, together aiming towards the goal of developing a sustainable and responsible fisheries industry.
This is also one of the important solutions for Vietnam to soon remove the "yellow card", restore the seafood export market to Europe and enhance the international reputation of the country's seafood industry.
