Responding to a reporter's question about Vietnam's efforts in combating illegal, unreported and unregulated fishing, Vietnamese Foreign Ministry Spokesperson Pham Thu Hang stated:
Vietnam's stance on combating illegal, unreported and unregulated (IUU) fishing is consistent and has been stated many times. Vietnam advocates sustainable development of the marine economy , maintaining sustainable development of the fishing industry with a vessel and craft structure appropriate to the exploitation capacity of aquatic resources; fully complying with regulations on combating illegal, unreported and unregulated fishing.

In recent times, Vietnam has built and perfected the legal system on fisheries to ensure effectiveness and efficiency, while implementing many measures to prevent and combat IUU fishing activities, resolutely and strictly handling violations in a public and transparent manner.
Recently, Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh signed and issued the "Peak Month Action Plan to combat illegal, unreported, and unregulated fishing and sustainable development of Vietnam's fisheries sector". Vietnamese authorities and localities have been and will regularly manage, propagate, educate and implement many specific measures for fishermen to comply with Vietnamese laws and respect the sea areas of countries established in accordance with the 1982 United Nations Convention on the Law of the Sea and relevant international conventions/agreements that Vietnam has signed or is a member of.

As an active, proactive and responsible member of the international community, Vietnam is always ready to work with countries in the region and the international community to strengthen cooperation and share experiences in combating IUU fishing, promoting effective and sustainable fisheries management in accordance with international law.
Responding to a reporter's question asking about Vietnam's reaction to some worrying information that Vietnam could become a "hot spot" for online fraud activities, Vietnamese Foreign Ministry Spokesperson Pham Thu Hang emphasized:
We do not comment on speculative questions. In recent times, in the face of the complex developments of fraud, online crimes and cybercrime, Vietnam has completed the legal framework for telecommunications and network security management to create effective tools to prevent violations in cyberspace, aiming for a safe and transparent network environment for the people.
Vietnam has clearly demonstrated its joint actions with the United Nations and its member states in the fight against cybercrime, which has been evolving complicatedly in recent times, through the signing ceremony of the Hanoi Convention and recent high-level conferences. The Vietnamese and international press have also reported and commented on Vietnam's proactive pioneering, connecting and commitment in this activity.
At the same time, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, together with ministries, branches and functional agencies of Vietnam, are also actively exchanging with partner countries to establish cooperation mechanisms to improve the effectiveness of Vietnam's citizen protection work, and more effectively combat organized crime and high-tech crime in other countries. The Ministry of Foreign Affairs has directed Vietnamese representative agencies abroad to closely monitor the situation and prepare necessary plans, closely coordinate with domestic and local agencies to promptly deploy citizen protection measures.
