Bac Giang has an important trading position as it is located on the economic corridor of Nanning (China) - Lang Son - Hanoi - Hai Phong - Quang Ninh; 50km from Noi Bai International Airport; adjacent to the "economic development triangle" of 3 major provinces and cities: Hanoi - Hai Phong - Quang Ninh.

Identifying infrastructure as an important lever for development, Bac Giang focuses on developing key traffic projects. The new "industrial capital" of the North

With breakthrough potential, in recent years, Bac Giang has gradually become a major industrial center of the country and achieved impressive socio-economic indicators.

In 2023, Bac Giang will rank 4th in the country in terms of provincial competitiveness. In the first 9 months of 2024, the province had the highest GRDP growth rate in the country, reaching 13.89%; attracting investment leading the Northern Midlands and Mountains region; ranking 7th in the country in attracting FDI. On July 31, 2024, Bac Giang was officially recognized as meeting the criteria for a type II urban area and is aiming for the criteria for a type I urban area by 2030.

The province currently has 9 industrial parks with approved construction plans. Of these, 8 industrial parks are operating with a total area of ​​about 2,238.7 hectares and 38 industrial clusters are under development with a total area of ​​more than 1,208 hectares.

It is expected that by 2030, Bac Giang will allocate more than 10,000 hectares of land for industrial development. The province aims to have 29 industrial parks with an area of ​​about 7,000 hectares and 63 industrial clusters with an area of ​​more than 3,000 hectares.
