This morning (November 9), the Ministry of Education and Training coordinated with the People's Committees of the provinces: Lang Son, Cao Bang, Lao Cai, Tuyen Quang, Dien Bien, Lai Chau, Son La, Thanh Hoa, Nghe An, Ha Tinh, Quang Tri, Dak Lak and An Giang to simultaneously organize the groundbreaking ceremony of 100 inter-level boarding schools for primary and secondary schools in the land border communes with 13 online and live television stations.
The groundbreaking ceremony was broadcast live on VTV1 from 9:00 to 10:30 with the central point in Yen Khuong commune, Thanh Hoa province.

According to the Conclusion Notice No. 81-TB/TW dated July 18, 2025 of the Politburo on the policy of investing in building schools for border communes and Resolution No. 298/NQ-CP dated September 26, 2025 of the Government promulgating the Government's Action Plan to implement Conclusion Notice 81-TB/TW, the whole country has 248 land border communes planned to invest in 248 inter-level boarding schools for primary and secondary schools.
Of these, 100 schools were selected for phase 1 construction with a total investment capital requirement of nearly 20,000 billion VND. The capital source is mainly from the central budget, combined with local and socialized sources. It is expected that these schools will be completed and put into use before the start of the 2026-2027 school year.
In Ha Tinh, two projects have been started: Son Kim 1 Primary and Secondary Boarding School and Huong Khe Primary and Secondary Boarding School with a total investment of nearly 300 billion VND.

The project to build Son Kim 1 Primary and Secondary Boarding School was implemented in Trung village, Son Kim 1 with an area of nearly 5 hectares, including about 3 hectares of agricultural land.
The Huong Khe Primary and Secondary Boarding School project is built in Phu Gia village, Huong Khe commune on an area of over 5 hectares, including about 2 hectares of agricultural land.

The simultaneous groundbreaking of 100 schools in border areas is not only an educational infrastructure event but also a milestone of profound humanitarian significance, demonstrating the special attention of the Party and State to the people and students in border areas - which are considered the "fence" of the Fatherland. This is also an activity aimed at ensuring fairness in access to education, narrowing regional disparities, improving social security and strengthening national defense and security in border areas.
