In parallel with the cleanup work, Military Region 5 directed the Logistics - Engineering sector to carry out disinfection of areas at risk of contamination; organize medical teams to examine and distribute medicine to people in flooded areas. In Tuy An Dong commune, Dak Lak province, as soon as the water receded, doctors and nurses from Military Hospital 13 immediately examined and treated people after many days of isolation. Top priority was given to the elderly, children, and policy households. Many diseases that easily arise after floods such as skin fungus, athlete's foot, digestive problems, respiratory problems, etc. were promptly examined and consulted. The soldiers' hands gently washed each wound, prescribed each bag of medicine with dedicated instructions.

Military Region 5 has established 20 medical teams, in coordination with Hospital 87 (General Department of Logistics - Engineering) and the Southern Institute of Preventive Medicine to prevent and fight epidemics. At the same time, 15 field kitchens have been set up, cooking thousands of meals to hand out to people in flooded areas. At the Kitchen of the Defense Command of Region 6 - Tuy Hoa (Dak Lak Provincial Military Command), the atmosphere is bustling, everyone is busy: Some wash rice, some pick vegetables, some fry eggs... all working towards the common goal: Bringing hot rice to people as quickly as possible. Major Nguyen Thi Hoang Anh, a medical staff member, shared: "During storms and floods, a piece of food when hungry is worth a package when full. Therefore, we prioritize food hygiene and safety and packaging speed. Each lunch box is the heart of a soldier sent to the people."

Not stopping there, Military Region 5 also gave more than 1,200 gifts to each family of casualties to pay their respects, express condolences, and provide initial support.
