SIU Prize Computer Science Winner Revealed

(NLĐO) - The first SIU Prize for Computer Science awards ceremony has named the winners in the field of Computer Science.

On the evening of January 11th, the SIU Prize Computer Science Award Ceremony was held, with the first prize going to Dr. Tran Hoang Dung for his thesis "Testing a Self-Learning Real-Virtual System".

According to the SIU PRIZE judging panel, this research has built a solid mathematical foundation along with new algorithms for testing the security of neural networks and automated systems. The practical applications of this work are vast, ensuring the safety and sustainability of advanced technologies such as self-driving cars, drones, and deep neural networks, becoming a crucial foundation in modern computing.

At the award ceremony In the SIU Prize category, Dr. Nguyen Anh Tuan won second prize with his thesis "High-precision bioelectrical neural interface towards symbiosis between humans and machines". Dr. Trinh Hoang Trieu won third prize with his thesis "Solving Olympiad geometry problems without using human data" and Dr. Pham Huu Dang Nhat won third prize with his thesis: "Developing a method for measuring biological signals from the human body using a smart head-wearable system".

Dr. Tran Hoang Dung received the First Prize at the SIU PRIZE with his dissertation "Testing a Self-Learning Real-Virtual System".

The SIU Prize is administered by Saigon International University (SIU) and sponsored by the Asian International Education Group (GAIE).

The SIU Prize awards cash prizes, including a first prize of 2 billion VND; a second prize of 1 billion VND; a third prize of 400 million VND; and two consolation prizes of 200 million VND each.

In its inaugural season (2023-2024), the SIU Prize for Computer Science attracted over 100 nominations from 19 countries and territories.

Outstanding projects in diverse fields: Artificial intelligence, big data, networking and information security, telecommunications engineering, IoT, bioinformatics…

Nominations undergo three rigorous rounds of evaluation by the Preliminary Judging Panel, the Expert Committee, and the Expert Panel, which consists of professors, scientists, and leading experts in relevant fields from prestigious universities, research institutes, and businesses in the United States, Canada, Australia, France, and Vietnam.

The first SIU Prize Computer Science award, "Eastern Spirit Award," is a special category honoring outstanding PhD graduates from Vietnamese higher education institutions who make it into the top 10 of the award, aiming to promote the self-reliance of domestic students.

It is also known that the SIU Prize organizing committee will announce the launch of the next season – the SIU Prize Health Sciences, with nominations starting in March 2025.
