In the list of U21 Vietnam announced by the International Volleyball Federation (FIVB) homepage at noon on August 15, the name Dang Thi Hong unexpectedly appeared.
The above information makes Vietnamese volleyball fans "excited" because of the possibility that this main striker born in 2006 will be able to play with U21 Vietnam in the match against U21 Chile at 8:00 p.m. today (August 15).
However, just a few minutes after adding Dang Thi Hong's name to the list of U21 Vietnam to play against Chile, the FIVB homepage... withdrew this striker's name.
According to a member of the U21 Vietnam coaching staff, the whole team was very surprised when Dang Thi Hong appeared on the list to compete against Chile. However, shortly after, U21 Vietnam received an email informing them that "there was a mistake", and Dang Thi Hong's name was removed from the list.

Previously, in addition to canceling the results of 4 matches of U21 Vietnam in the group stage and stripping the ticket to the round of 16, FIVB also erased all the parameters of the captain of U21 Vietnam at the 2025 U21 World Cup.

FIVB is still keeping the names and reasons for the athletes' bans secret, while Vietnam U21 was stripped of their right to enter the round of 16. The only information FIVB has provided so far is: "The Vietnam Sports Federation and athletes will be invited to provide their views in writing. FIVB will not comment further on this issue while the tournament is still ongoing ."
