Long An and Vingroup will cooperate to develop a carbon credit project, research and deploy the use of electric buses, and promote green transformation in the province.

On March 28, the People's Committee of Long An province and Vingroup Corporation signed a memorandum of understanding on promoting green transformation, digital transformation and sustainable development in the province.

According to this memorandum, the two sides will jointly establish a green transformation, green growth, and sustainable development program for Long An province in the period 2025 - 2030.

The key areas of green transformation include green tourism, green industry, green agriculture , green urban infrastructure, green transport and green lifestyle.

Specifically in the field of transportation, the two sides will cooperate to launch the movement "Fierce Vietnamese Spirit - For a Green Future", promote the use of electric vehicles in the whole province and research and implement the plan to use electric buses.

In addition, the two sides will also cooperate on carbon credit projects, complete documents and register carbon credit projects on international exchanges, ensuring the legality and transferability of carbon credits when qualified.

At the same time, promote investment and support businesses by promoting research initiatives in smart manufacturing, electronics, mechanical assembly and related industries. Encourage Long An businesses to evaluate the potential for cooperation in the global supply chain.

Recently, Vingroup started construction of the new urban area Hau Nghia - Duc Hoa (Vinhomes Green City) in Hau Nghia - Duc Hoa town with an area of 197.2 hectares, aiming to invest in an ecological urban area in the direction of a green and sustainable living space.
