Brigade 957 encourages godson to confidently enter the new school year

On August 13, in Phu Thuy ward, Lam Dong province, a working delegation of Brigade 957, Naval Region 4 visited and gave gifts to the unit's godchild before the new school year.

The circumstances of the two godchildren are very difficult. Nguyen Ngoc Yen (2012), an 8th grade student at Nguyen Thong Secondary School, lost her father at a young age. Yen's father was a fisherman who had an accident at sea and died in 2017. Yen's biological mother later had a new family. Yen lives with her grandmother who is over 80 years old. Since being adopted by Brigade 957, Yen has been happy, confident, and well-behaved, studying better every day.

Female student Pham Thi My Dung (born 2009), studying in grade 10, Phan Boi Chau Supplementary School, also lost her father. My Dung's father had an accident at sea and died in 2022. Dung lives with her mother and grandmother, but since her grandmother had a stroke, she has been bedridden. The money her mother saved from working every day is still not enough for the family meals of Dung and her two sisters and her seriously ill grandmother. For the past few years, Dung's family has been considered poor.

The working delegation presented books and school supplies to encourage Pham Thi My Dung's godson before the new school year.

Lieutenant Colonel Han Xuan Lam, Deputy Political Commissar of the Brigade, kindly shared and inquired about the health and life of the two godchildren's families and encouraged them to continue to try hard, be good and study well in the coming school year. The delegation also presented the two godchildren with school supplies, books and 3 million VND for each child.

Carrying out the activity "Navy sponsors fishermen's children", Brigade 957 is sponsoring two orphaned girls. Each month the Brigade supports 1 million VND/child. In addition, on holidays, Tet, and the new school year, the unit directly visits, encourages, shares, and helps the children gradually overcome difficulties and improve their lives.
