Floods on Ngoi Duong stream affect more than 100 households

Due to heavy rain upstream, at 1 a.m. on July 27, flash floods appeared on Ngoi Duong stream (through Cam Duong commune, Pom Han ward and old Binh Minh ward), inundating and sweeping away property of many houses in residential groups 27, 28, 29; fortunately there were no human casualties.

According to Mr. Nguyen Xuan Nhan, Chairman of Cam Duong Ward People's Committee, through initial statistics, there were over 100 households affected, including more than 70 households in groups 28 and 29 (old Pom Han ward area) and residential area of ​​Cong Truong 5 (old Cam Duong commune).

Flood on Ngoi Duong stream rose abnormally at dawn on July 27.

In addition, flash floods also caused 12 fish ponds and lakes of households in group 28 (Pom Han) and group Cong Truong 5 (Cam Duong) to break their banks, overflow, and sweep away more than 10 tons of fish.

In addition, floodwaters also buried more than 8 hectares of newly planted rice, sweeping away about 2,000 chickens and ducks.

Floods on Ngoi Duong stream have submerged many houses in groups 28 and 29 of Cam Duong ward.

Also according to information from Cam Duong Ward People's Committee, last night (July 26), heavy rain severely flooded Le Thanh Street, causing 60 houses on both sides of the street to be flooded, causing a lot of property damage.

Nearly 100 households in Cam Duong ward were affected by floods on the night of July 26 and early morning of July 27.

Authorities support people to overcome the consequences of floods.

Immediately after the flash flood and inundation, the Cam Duong Ward Disaster Prevention and Search and Rescue Command mobilized local forces and local people to help bring people from flooded households to safety; the police and mobile police forces came to help households clear mud, clear sewers, repair houses, and stabilize their lives.
