In Tuong Duong district, Mr. Nguyen Van Hoa - Head of the Department of Agriculture and Environment said that on the night of May 29, the district had heavy to very heavy rain, causing flooding and landslides in many places. Especially in the two communes of Nhom Mai and Huu Khuong, flash floods occurred, causing damage to people's property and traffic works.

"Early this morning, localities reported preliminary damage caused by flash floods. In Huu Khuong commune, 2 bridges were affected, 2 houses collapsed; in Nhon Mai commune, many houses were affected; many traffic points were eroded, including the suspension bridge in Nhon Mai village. Currently, localities are calculating specific damage to report to higher authorities," Mr. Nguyen Van Hoa informed.

In Ky Son district, heavy rain also caused damage to many people's properties and traffic works. Mr. Nguyen Van Truong - Head of the Department of Agriculture and Environment said: Early this morning, localities had preliminary reports, in which the routes to Tay Son, Na Loi, Na Ngoi, Huu Kiem... were heavily eroded; Landslides damaged many houses of the people.

In Huu Kiem commune, floodwaters washed away a bridge in Dinh Son 1 village. In Bao Thang commune, water in streams and creeks rose, many sections of traffic roads were at risk of landslides.

Heavy rains in Que Phong District also caused damage to many properties and crops of the people. Information from the Department of Agriculture and Environment said that early this morning, localities had preliminary reports on the damage caused by heavy rains that occurred on the night of May 29. The main damage was to spring rice being flooded and buried. Currently, the district is continuing to collect information from localities to have a specific report.
Currently, in the mountainous districts of Nghe An, it is still raining heavily. Local authorities are directing and guiding people to prevent damage caused by floods.
